This was a great debut issue. I’m not a Superboy/Conor fan at all but this was fantastic and a bit creepy, too. Any bets on who doctor “red” is? Is she a Luthor? Is her DNA tied into this clone? Is she Lana Lang? I loved Rose Wilson popping up. I loved being suckered into the VR world. (The woman in the burning building as they walked past made me laugh; I’m twisted, I know!), A pleasant surprise this week!

  1. I agree completely with your thoughts on the book, but wanted to point out that the identity of Red has been revealed online. I won’t say it here to spoil the secret, but if you look around a bit on google, you can probably find it. It was one of the things that made me take the dive into the book (because I thought the character was a really interesting pairing for Superboy), and I’m so, so happy I did.

  2. I also thought this was a great first issue. I was surprised how much I liked it, actually. And I love it when veteran writers like Scott Lobdell prove they’ve still got tricks of their sleeves – the VR stuff was great, the “women” in Superboy’s life are presented organically and interestingly (“Red,” Rose, and even Cassie), and the title character’s whole demeanor has been tweaked for the better. I really thought the art was smashing, too. This and *Deathstroke* might be my two faves of this week’s New 52 batch…
