Is it over yet?
Man o Man. Albeit this event had its ups and downs, the ending of Marvel’s Secret Invasion does what it set out to do. I will give it to Marvel. For the most part, barring scheduling errors, this universe Marvel has created is very cohesive and ever-changing. Secret Invasion #8 is another example of the status quo being changed once again. The hero’s win. Or do they? The new regime taking over in the Marvel U is going to change a lot of books and keep the hero’s on their toes. I will admit that this ending seemed sensible, but I still believe that someone is really behind this whole last 5 years of the Bendis Marvel Universe. It seems that Bendis is truly rolling with the punches and upping the anti with each event. I can only hope that with each event the quality of the tittles does not lack. Does it scare anyone that we have 3 Avenger titles (4 if you count Initiative)?
In summary story overall does have a good conclusion setting up the next year of Marvel Comics.
The art is on par as well. Yu seemed to get stronger every issue. I loved the Elvis in the background of the Skrull ship when the hero’s returned. Its the dichotomy of the little details and the massive action sequences that Yu handled very well in this series.
Overall this issue did what it had to do. I am left wondering though, what’s going to happen with the remaining Skrulls?
