Unbelieveable……
I read this issue at my LCS, only because I will not budge on reading such a medicore event. But I made a bet and I gotta be a man about it, I needed to see if this would be the last straw for me and this series. Look, I try to think of myself as a nice guy, I know me and the others on this site get into tuffles sometimes….but it’s all in good fun right? Well let me just say with no hyperbole need:
This is without a doubt…..in my opinion….the worst Marvels event I have ever read in my life.
You gotta be kidden me on this, this was a set up issue! How can you have a set up issue when basically 5 issues have been nothing but set up issues!? I dont even need to do spoiler warning cause I am not lying when barely anything happenend! Okay there is 32 pages in this book….I’d say on 3 pages had revelant things going for it. Basically, heroes to from one small area to another small area. They all group up together, oh and if anyone was thinking of a ‘wonderful’ team-up from the cover….prepare to be disappointed in the lack of excitement there. And finally: THE LAST FOUR PAGES WERE SPLASH PAGES! Are you kidden me!? This big event, with only 2 issues to go mind you, ended with a big splash page!? I mean it looks all fancy and Yu is proving to me at least he is a fantastic artist. But you end this issue with a big splash page. God knows how the next issue will start.
I’m sorry, I just cant do this anymore…..I’m done, totally done with this. This entire event is just a fraud of an event. Bendis is clearly writing this for trade and not for issues. Nothing about this was enjoyable other then Yu’s art. Poor pacing, poor storytelling, and tie-in’s that make the event look like a pre-schooler wrote it? Unbelieveable on how bad this was….I’m not even gonna bother reading this in trade, it’s a waste of money. God knows what this means for Marvel cause if this ‘Dark Reign’ nonsense is anything big….we are in for some very bad things up ahead..

The series has definitely been lackluster.
I like this better than Civil War and House of M. Operation Galactic Storm is the worst Marvel event ever.

Well considering that Galactic Storm is 19 parts(!) I can image it’s very long winded. But I bet I could find more enjoyment out of that series then this.
There’s really not much fun in tussling with someone who gets emotionally wound-up because they can’t accept other peoples’ opinions. You act as if someone forced you to enjoy SI when it’s really the other way around. You’re the one who stalks forums of books you don’t like and picks fights with anyone who dares to enjoy them.
Remember what Conor, your best-bud when he agrees with you, said about you back in the comments section from Trinity #12:
"It doesn’t bother us that you don’t like it, but it sure seems to bother you that we do."
I have to agree with NC. I was pretty disappointed with this issue. Once again nothing really happens & ending with 2 splash pages is plain cheesy. Also pages 3 & 4 depicts events that are happening in the tie-in mini-series. All the main action is happening off-screen, that’s pathetic.
When did I Say in this review or anywhere for SI did I say I hated you guys loved it so much? I said in the thread for this issue that ‘if you like this event then that’s fine, more power to you’. I dont hate the face that you love it FACE, or anyone else in that manner.
I just hate how overhyped the media/critics has been on this whole event. Nothing has happenend! It seems like when I state that you and everyone else who loves this book goes on the defensive and tries to bring ME down. So who’s really attacking who here?
Oh and BobDigi, thank you! You brought up my problems with this event in just 3 sentences.
It’s hard to disagree with this review. I had thought SI had finally kicked into gear and then…another thud. Do we really need to hear the heroes conversing while travelling from the Savage Land to New York? How does that advance the plot?
it’s the last fourth of this issue that felt very convenient.
I was really excited for this issue – believing that Bendis was ready to turn it all around. Unfortunately I was wrong, and I agree with everything you said in your review
In my opinion, this issue was a summary of the first 5 issues, followed by 2 issues of newish content, followed by a four page preview of the next issue. I want my $4 back.
I am glad the rest of you are enjoying this and I hope I enjoy the last two issues, because 1-6 (aka "Prelude to Secret Invasion", aka "Why You Should be Reading Mighty Avengers and New Avengers") have really disappointed me.
It’s not fair of me to call you out as a troublemaker when I have a reputation for being one myself. I apologize for my previous statements. Just know that, I strive to be on your side because we are alike. When this started I was trying to keep it light by saying "things" had happened in issues 2-4 and that long post was hardly directed at only you. It’s why the first statement within it tries to make that clear: "@all the SI haters and not just you Champ".
You’re fair in a lot more of your statements recently than you had been but when you say you’re sorry that I like five issues of nothing when I’ve already conceded that nothing’s happened and that it wasn’t that great you’re leaving me out of the joke and making me the joke, whether you think you’re just pokin’ fun or not.
This is a great review, so emotionally charged it’s threatening. You’ve got good reason to hate it.

The Secret Invasion Story line sucks.
Bendis is good with let’s say Daredevil.
But with the entire MArvel list of heroes. He’s a poor writer.
This entire Secret Invasion Storyline is total rubbish. Severly slow paced and lacking in action. Hmmm..Nick Fury’s relevance? ZERO.

Everything seems boiling down to ONE BIG BATTLE. WTF? Couldn’t we just have all the Aliens and Heroes meet up in NYC and just blow each other to bits. We could have done this 6 issues ago. There’s no storyline whatsoever. It’s pathetic. And by the by, where’s the Hulk?
Invasion had so much more promise. Now It’s looking to me that the DC Crisis event is getting a little more interesting and has more essence and maturity as a comic book.
