Secret Avengers #1 was one of the most anticipated books for me. This is Brubaker’s best writing in awhile and Mike Deodato’s dark art adds to the mysterious and secret nature of the book. Brubaker has successfully made Steve Rogers into the biggest badass of the Marvel Universe just as he originally did in his Winter Soldier arc. The issue starts with action and weaves a fine mystery for the rest of the arc. This to me is one of the greatest first issues since the New Avengers #1. I can’t wait to see where they go with this, and as long as Brubaker’s writing stays strong I’m with the book.
