I’ll be honest. I have not really followed any of the characters featured in this comic for any length of time. I only picked up the issue on a hunch based upon the names on the cover – Ed Brubaker and Mike Deodato.

I was not disappointed. Ed Brubaker quickly introduced all of the characters and their specialties and moved on to the conflict and left me with a cliffhanger that will definitely have me reading the next issue.

Deodato’s art was more than sufficient. He did not blow me away nor did he disappoint although more than a few panels seemed awkward and some limbs seemed out of place ie. Steve Rogers’ introduction.

In order to keep me reading long term Brubaker is going to have to make me care about one or more of these characters but for now, issue 2 is in the pull pile.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 3 - Good
