  1. Edgy? Gritty? to each their own i guess …

  2. Awful, Awful. If you’re going to break someone out of a heavily guarded stronghold, wouldn’t you do it when your holders are least expecting it or when you’re not so heavily guarded? What was the element of surprise, revealing yourself while you have everyone on guard, aiming right at you, really? Wouldn’t you think you would have Starfire disguised as one of the guards and start blowing things up as your distraction/element of surprise? I don’t know much of the red hood but it’s RED HOOD, not RED BAT or BAT RED or RED WING. Why does he have a bat on his chest? Yes I know the association with Batman but isn’t Jason Todd independent of Batman? Are we supposed to get Jason Todd is reckless or just stupid? Moving on to Starfire. Uh, honestly, do woman really dress that way? How effective is stripper apparel when you’re a potential target? Is she invincible, have some kind of protective field? Why aren’t we seeing Red Hood or Speedy with G-Strings spouting an erection with a BOING sound effect while you’re at it? Oh, the rationale is she’s an alien, right? These character’s are exactly that, I am so far removed I can’t see them as people but as jokes. The only one I really liked was Essence but it’s not enough for me to move on to the next book. BOMB.
