I was a little worried about this comic when I first heard that there was going to be a new writer to the series. But as soon as I saw the homage cover I knew this book was in good hands. The one problem I have with this book is that it dosent look like its going to follow the Original Zombie group at all which after the complete clifhanger ending at the end of Marvel Zombies 2 I was a little pissed about, but after reading this issue, the story seems to be turning into a enjoyable story, but even though it is set in the 616 universe I doubt we will see any big players and any really big zombifications and deaths of any major charecters, just some heroes no one really knows or cares about. I just hope they dont actually find a cure in the Zombieverse

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. I was all ready to pass this up untill I read/heard some of the feedback.  I fell off the Marvel Zombies wagon at the begining of vol 2.  I would agree that Kirkman (IMO) was already focused on his life outside "The Bullpen" at that point.

I’m not sure how old Mr. Van Lente is, but this issue was very mid to late 70’s Marvel centric (The Aquarian!!!?  He must be a BIG Marvel Two In One fan).  I enjoyed the issue.  Can’t wait for the appearences of The Monster Legion, Thudra, Modred, and the rest of the Marvel Premier.2in1 gang.

I’ll stick this out for another issue.

Really fun to see the Aquarian again. It has been years! Last time I saw him he was battling mutant serpent versions of the Marvel heroes in a world gone wrong in "What If The Marvel Super Heroes Had Lost Atlantis Attacks." With the white gear, and long hair, he’s got a messianic quality, but his teammates in this don’t seem very mighty if compared to the Doom, Sabretooth, Grey Hulk, Wolverine team he assisted in the What-If story.
