A couple of years ago I went on tour with my band for 2 weeks. We covered most of the western U.S and had a blast. When I got back to my apartment I discovered my PG&E was turned off, cable was gone, the dishes in the sink had “something” growing on them. Living the rock and roll lifestyle can be rough sometimes.

And Hal Jordan for the last few years has been quite the Rockstar: Blackest Night, Brightest Day, War of the Green Lanterns, the dude has been going non-stop for months. But then he got fired by the Corps and headed home and back to reality. Yeah being a superhero is fun and stuff but you still gotta pay your bills.

I really liked Green Lantern #1. It was nice change of pace and allowed us to catch our breath after all the craziness of the last few years. Geoff Johns is making a good move here – knocking Hal down a peg or two, and allowing us readers to relate to him a little better is going to pay off BIG TIME when Hal gets that ring back.

In the meantime let’s hope Hal can get those bills paid.
