While The New Avengers sit around a table in Bucky’s apartment and discuss how maybe they could possibly perhaps do something about, sigh, Norman Osborn, The Dark Avengers are out trying to save Dr. Doom’s shiny, metal, mask.  Both titles are written by Bendis, and both have his signature witty dialogue.  I thought this title, with its action scenes, would be a bit more fun than the New Avengers title.  I was wrong.

This issue isn’t bad, it’s just, ehhh.  It wasn’t that long ago that we got a fantastically well-written story that defined the Osborne/Sentry relationship.  Apart from that, there hasn’t been much below-the surface writing of any of the Dark Avengers since they joined.  And there isn’t a lot here, either.  They did finally catch up to an event that happened in New Avengers a few months ago, and it will be interesting (I hope) to see where Bendis goes with it.

All in all, this story, and the artwork in this issue were just mediocre.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 3 - Good

  1. I’ll assume you meant to rate either the story or art a 2 cuz your rating doesn’t match your review.

  2. @Scorp

He said its mediocre, a 3 fits just fine with that description.
