Finally after what feels like 20 years the pointless story of Blackest Night ends with a bunch of people being brought back to life, in the case of Martian Manhunter he even gets a new costume, and DC's revolving door to the afterlife being closed until it isn't anymore.

Bizzarely for a series that ran for SO long the last issue was rushed, Sinestro then Jordan then Everyone then No-one was a White Lantern, and then Thors Hammer was in a hole in the ground somewhere.

Did I type Thors hammer? I meant the White Lantern.

The story overall has other suspicious echoes, echoes of other books like The Sandman, the glowy space creatures origin is pretty much a smaller scale version of The Endless, and that points to my real issue with the story of Blackest Night, and in many ways with the work of Geoff Johns as a whole, we can explain away the "suspicious echoes of other people work" as the ever-popular "drawing from the same mythological sources" but the stories always feel so small-scale to me, and this book felt small.

I did sort of enjoy the ressurection of the Hank Hall version of Hawk though, it really makes me wonder, what dort of never-mentioned-before space beastie is going to be blamed for his multiple mass-murders? Parralax can't have got into him as well surely?

Ah well, at least hawk was never a kiddy-fiddler.
