I could have been quoted this week as saying something about hoping this issue would clear up some of the questions I had about RIP.  Even still, I didn't go into this issue expecting that, as I didn't feel it fair to judge a book based on wish fulfillment.  I don't even know if it mattered that I had lowered my expectations, but this issue was completely made of win.  Although we have a new artist with a more rounded style, the book still looks very good.  On top of that Morrison manages to maintain his compressed style of writing, minus the convoluted feel and the Bat-Morrison Encyclopedia requirement of RIP.  Not quite what the solicited suggested (not surprised) the story was a rewind as a prelude to fast forward.  We get a retelling of Batman's story, with satisfying and elegant explanations for the change in tone over Batman's history.  In the end, we skip ahead to Final Crisis.  We still don't know how Bruce got from the Gotham River to the Hall of Justice and his confrontation with the possessed Alpha Lantern, but we do see what is being done with him now that he's held captive.  And I am intrigued.  Very much so.
