As with my Final Crisis #3 review, I will ignore the claims of why this book is bad. Too many people have complained that this arc is confusing, poorly written, and gives Morrison a bad name. Quite the opposite for me actually; it really seems that this is the defining moment for Morrison. This is how he writes a tale, he wants to confusing the fuck out of anyone just for the sake of entertainment.

The beginning of this issue turned out really well, this Batman has gone of the deep end into the dark aybss. Seeing this 'Zur-En-Ahh' Batman is quite jarring; he sees Bat-Mite and talks to gargoyles. While he isnt using a bat to get information he sits in a dark bathroom and tells himself that his parents death was a 'glory moment'. That is fucking sick, and it also makes it better because everyone else knows he's flipping crazy. The high point for me was the henchmen for the Black Glove stating, 'That's a ****ing broke walkie-talkie!!!' as he is about to get the shit beaten out of him.

Other moments seems to push into the next issue however. You see I am not lowering my score for any confusing; but for the fact that this was a 'set-up' issue. The Black Glove setting up in Arkham, Robin trying to find Bruce, and Joker getting ready was all leading up to the next issue. Although it isnt a bad thing cause when you think about it...the next issue will most likely be on the lines of Morrisons other work: Arkham Asylum. If anyone has read that classic you can most likely tell where this story is headed.

Obviously this has to be the end of Wayne. No way can he get out of this...he thinks hes an alien for god sakes! But that doesnt stop me from reading this psychotic 'train-wreck' to be enjoyable. This is some of the best writing Morrison is putting out there and the best is still yet to come. So if anyone has had problems so far with this book.....It only get's worse from here folks.
