Here’s all you need to know about this issue.

Grant Morrison kept saying he was going to use Bat-Mite.  I didn’t believe him.  I was wrong.

If the idea that Bat-Mite could actually exist in the current DC U (even if only in Bruce Wayne’s subconscious) repels you, then this book is not for you.  If you love the idea that maybe some of the kookier things in Batman’s history might have come from his own psychosis, then this issue will be right up your alley.

This issue is all about set-up.  I will be able to judge it better once I’ve seen the payoff.  Bat-Mite notwithstanding, there are other things in the story that had better not hold true, because they’ll simply ruin the character of Batman.  So, for now, I rate the story highly, with the caveat that it comes down to how the series finishes.  I’m enjoying the ride so far, here’s hoping Morrison doesn’t crash the bus at the end!

Story: 4 - Very Good
