By far, the best Battle For The Cowl book to come out thus far.  Lots of action, and the back story was written into the plot seamlessly, unlike the other clunky chapters of this crossover.

I also enjoyed the artwork for this.  When used to describe Marvel titles, the word “muddy” is worrisome.  It doesn’t fit the mood that the writing is trying to evoke.  The art in this book is either a muted blue, a muted yellow, or a muddy green.  All three really work to enhance the story.

If I were to pick a new Batman based on how well their Battle For The Cowl story was written, my money would be on the new Azrael.  But, you know, I’m broke, anyway.
