I am really liking the the look of this title. The inks and colors simultaneously preserve the sketchy feel of the pencils while creating an almost photo-realism. That being said I was neither over excited by this issue, nor do I think it was complete crap.
The comic starts off with the new Azrael decapitating a corrupt undercover cop. These first two pages are tense and intriguing, and that's the best part of the comic. Unfortunately it just seems like I've seen it all before. It was pretty neat how we got to see the armor of sorrow again and the crusader-thing Azrael has going is a nice update. Howver, there really isn't much in here to keep me interested. Seeing as its only three issues I might as well pick up the run, but I don't see myself subscribing to any future Azrael minis. He was cool in the 90's, but I don't know how well the concept has aged.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 3 - Good

Well it seems like the concept has changed for Azrael.
I know the original was a bit religious, but here it seems like they are maxing that trait to 11 and running with it.
I probably should have given the art more credit.
