   Yeah but the city of Kandor goes from being a city on a big ice cube to forming into it’s own planet completely opposite of the planet Earth hence the name: New Krypton.

   I’m not sure what that really changes, though.  They are still only a few minutes away at Super-speed. 

    

   Also, there wasn’t a good Science-fictiony explanation for how that happened.  Superman can’t make planets out of nothing.  Why can Supermom?

   Its because they were using crystals from Supes Fortress of Solitude (or since the fortress was formed from Kryptonia science, I’m sure they had their own source). Kind of like how Lex was going to take over the world in Superman Returns, they used the crystals to grow a new planet. There was a story shortly after OYL where Lex did something similar, creating a construct out of the crystals that threatened to overrun the town. They didn’t come out and say it, but thats how it looked like to me.

   Not really a reference. I was saying it was akin to what happened in Returns, and only the part about the growing crystals which has been seen in other Super-titles. The book coulda used a little Parker Posey though……
