  1. Can’t friggin wait.

  2. About damn time we get to see mustache man and his crew!  They have been teasing this guy for most of the year

  3. Woohoo! A Kirkman book always makes the week/month that much better 🙂

  4. @ drakedangerz – I bet these guys won’t show up until the last page.

  5. lol i wonder what the big last page shock will be in this issue. dun dun DUN!

  6. @Brandon2-Oh yeah, they won’t show their faces at all until the end.  Kirkman loves leaving his fans with blueballs.  if you go to kirkman’s forum we have been speculating the name of that guy this whole time.  Eventually we just started calling him A.H.M.D. (Awesome Handlebar Mustache Dude)  I am almost sad to find out what his real name is.

  7. Man it feels like I just got the walking dead a week or two ago.  Sweet!

  8. Well it was a nice ride on issues but, I think I’m just gonna go back to trade format on this series.

Nothing against Kirkman and his recent rant on comics at the Baltimore Con but….I just think this reads better overall in a collected format then in single issues. Still recommend it if anyone is interested in it.

  9. AHMD – finally we learn this name 🙂

  10. In a bit of meta-storytelling, Kirkman has named the mustachioed guy "Blueballs"

  11. haha, Blueballs is possibly one of the only names he could have that would not disappoint me.  Tiberius? Jonah?  Archimedes?  Somone help me out here

  12. can’t get enough of this, glad to see it back on schedule (and a little early even?)

  13. Great! This book is always at the top of my list.

  14. I wish it wasn’t such a blazing fast read, but it’s a fast read for all the right reasons…it’s friggin great

  15. Wow!!!!  Loved this issue.  Heart, a little action and to top it off… a mission.  It looks like a new ride begins soon and I can’t wait to see where it takes the cast.  Now lets see how long it takes for the next one to come out.  It could come out in two weeks and still feel like forever!

  16. @drake

they’ve been teasing this guy?  In the actual book or in the media?  I have no recollection of this.

  17. @SunnyvaleTrash-neither.  The release way back when of the covers for the next couple issues were all the forum fans had to go off of.  So we used those to fuel our speculation of this guy and his crew.  It got pretty crazy intense.  Anyways, good issue.

  18. I thought this was really great, but it had me wondering, if Walking Dead was going to move into a more Y the last man type plot line. Anyway, I trust Kirkman to continue to do good things with this series.

  19. @NealAppeal-What do you mean "Y the last man" plot?  I don’t buy that he is actually going to deliver on the cliffhanger.  He always says that he doesn’t want to go that route.  I think its just for the shock value

  20. @Drake:  I think it gives the team a mission but I doubt that anything will come of it.  I bet they go through hell to get to DC only to find its as bad off as every where else.  But hey it would be cool to see them living it up in the White House!!!  haha.

  21. I think the "reason" will ever be revealed, it’s just a good red-herring to start a plot-line.

  22. @CharlieBlix-Yeah, nothing will come of it.  But it is great that this seems to be heading towards a "mission"  Its something that hasn’t been done before in this series and is a welcome breathe of fresh air for me

  23. @Drake, I’m just talking about the way it appears, or is trying to appear as if the way were headed is for an attempt at a solution to the zombie crisis, some kind of cure perhaps, necessitating a road trip, which would be a depature from the just folks getting along emphasis of the series so far.

I don’t think it will be a red herring. I don’t think Kirkman will find away around making this more Y-ish (for lack of a better descriptor) that will be insignifigant enough to make this a red herring. Either way this is going to force the issue of whether or not there is an understandable reason out there for why this is happening and whether or not there is a solution, other than just trying to go about your lives. So I think this could be the seed for many stories to come, maybe even for the next 50 issues of the series. I don’t think this will dissappear in five issues and leave no impact on the series other than characters being somewhere else, more messed up, and/or dead.

Also, the part with Michone and Rick talking about the voices they hear was really touching. Michone seems much more relatable at this point, because I can see that she was never much more crazy that Rick is now.

  24. now THIS is what I’m talking about.

  25. @Neal:  You talked about how Michone seems less crazy now but really she’s not.  Rick is just more crazy and we saw how he got there so we understand and feel sorry for him.  When Michone just showed up being all chatty with herself we all said "well she’s nutters".  I don’t know if this is something that Kirkman was going for but I do think its kind of neat.

  26. @CharlieBlix Agreed. That is cool.

  27. Great issue (as usual), I just wish the Michone revelation was a bit more … well, a bit more. We have been waiting to find out for this long that she is just talking to her dead boyfriend? I was hoping she was a CIA programmed assassin or something more "out there". Ah well, I’m not writing it … if I was, we woulda had zombie chimps by now.

  28. Loved the Rick/Michone scene.
