UNCANNY X-FORCE #2

“THE APOCAYLPSE SOLUTION,” PART 2

The X-Force are in deep trouble. Stranded in the Blue Area of the moon at the hands of the Last Horsemen, EVA decimated, the team scattered, diseased and terribly injured, the situation is beyond hopeless. Ozymandias and the Akkaba Society are a step closer to instigating a new age. Apocalypse is ascending. X-Force is down, outmanned and without aid. That’s it – someone’s going feral.

  1. thank god there’s an x-book i can follow

  2. oh, i followed it alright. So well that i’m not getting the second issue

  3. Does this seem late to anyone?

I’m not picking this up by the way. I was thinking about it but then a couple of days ago I re-read the first issue. Not good….just not good.

  4. @TNC

It’s almost a month late. First issue was October 6th.

  5. That explains it felt like foreeeeeeever since I read issue 1, personally I’m still liking it so I’m still in. =]

  6. Had this come out a month ago, I would have definitely bought it…now, I’m not so sure…It’s between this and Batwoman, and I love me some JH Williams III art.

  7. oh i dunno. i’m not a X book reader so i was lost/underwhlemed on the first issue. If it wasn’t so late maybe i’d take another dip….i still see the first issue for sale at shops so i’ve got a good 6 weeks to pick this one up.

  8. The only X-Men book I’m picking up.

  9. @wallythegreenmonster I don’t follow the X-Men at all and I didn’t feel lost during the first issue. Looking forward to more Remender and Opena awesomeness

  10. It was that one character…Fantomex. I just don’t get him or his powers. I think that was my confusion honestly.

  11. Fantomex or Deadpool. Pick one Remender. Putting both in seems like ridiculous superhero overkill. And lets be honest. Deadpool has like 500 titles and is beloved by goofballs everywhere. Fantomex is French and his powerset is murky and uninteresting. Now if in your evil genius you have taken Fantomex on as a character just so you can convincingly kill him and his stupid external nervous system in some sort of green fireball… then Bravo, sir. Well played.

  12. I’m picking this up. I dropped Secret Avengers for this as my $3.99 Marvel book and have high hopes. Enjoyed the first issue and loving the art.

  13. The art here is so badass, but there are times when the art looks kind of offputting.

  14. After hating the 1st issue, I had a lot of fun with this one.  Why the hell did Remender want Deadpool though?  This is about as unfunny as I’ve ever seen him.  It’s a shame because the Wolverine, Warren, and Psylocke stuff is so good; Deadpool and Fantomex are so out of place here.

  15. Don’t mind Fantomex in this, always thought the EVA thing was cool, but still think Domino would’ve belonged in this better than DP.

  16. Only two issue into the series, this is currently the best X-title out on the shelves. An okay storyline accompanied by awesome artwork. Series would be nice collected in a hardcover volume which I will definitely buy right away when it comes out.

Hope Uncanny X-Force gets more members. Too bad Domino and X-23 had to go.

  17. There are many great aspects about Opena’s art, but the best is his portrayal of Psylocke. She isn’t drawn in that typical sleek and faux-sexy style that always plagues her, but instead is drawn wonderfully curvy and like a realistically slender and beautiful woman. A gorgeous face and expressions as well.

  18. Hahahahha!

Yea Ryan, Domino should be in this book, and maybe X-23 too, but they didn’t make Remender’s cut.

  19. This felt like a good old fashion X-Men book.

  20. Just read this today and I loved it.  Best thing I can say about this series is I’ve read both issues more than once.  It looks lovely and I’m a big fan of the color palette.

I see some people don’t care for the lineup but I enjoy the whole team.  Deadpool and Fantomex are perfect because they lighten the tone of a story that could otherwise be too self-serious.  This is really my kind of comic in that it’s completely insane in an awesome kind of of way.  Case in point, the Final Horsemen.
