  1. This and New Avengers are my favor Marvel Comics on stand right now.

The first 4 issues weren’t really taking me in and the narrator feels off. I’m not used to reading a comic book and the narrator isn’t someone who is part of the story (or maybe he is). Last two issues were really good and I can’t wait for this one.

  2. The last issue was excellent & the preview for this issue looks even better, definitely a potential pick of the week!

  3. It’s weird to think that getting rid of Cassaday on art was what this book really needed. It went from being tolerable to being fantastic pretty quickly.

  4. This is getting really good. Those who gave up on it after the first couple issues might want to check back in. Remender is setting up some more Uncanny X-Force type stuff. And yes, getting rid of Cassaday has really helped.

  5. Dropped after issue 2. Picked up issue 5 on a whim. I’m hooked.

  6. This is the best bad comic comic I have ever read. Also, screw you guys Cassaday was brilliant.

  7. I just read 1-6 last night and I am mega pumped for this. It was a little jarring how this became an Apocalypse story and I’ve no clue who Kang is, but I’m very happy the way it’s going. I hope Remender writes Apocalypse stories until the end of fing time!

  8. This issue cements this series as the new Uncanny X-Force for me. I didn’t think there was any way that Remender could live up to UXF, it was as close to a perfect superhero run I’ve read in recent years, but Uncanny Avengers is just about there. PotW.

  9. That last panel was epic.

  10. Am I the only one that thinks the Apocalypse on the cover looks like Aang (Avatar Last Airbender)

  11. Great, great issue. I’ve really enjoyed this title from the beginning, but this issue upped the ante in every way. Remender knows how to keep a narrative flowing like few others, and his grasp on the various characterizations makes him born to write a team book. Each character sounds exactly like they should, and as unique as they should. He’s segued from one epic story to the next with grace, and each arc rockets the stakes even higher.

But the addition of Acuna really makes this a five star book. I’ve always liked Acuna, but I love THIS Acuna. He’s really shifted gears, and it’s beautiful stuff. One thing I particularly enjoy that I’ve never really cared about before is his attention to fashion. Like Remender’s characterization, each hero dresses and looks differently. His take on Wanda in particular is a welcome change. The hair, the dress, the makeup. It’s all kinda retro but not quite old fashioned. It’s only fitting that Janet and Alex have a conversation regarding fashion. Plus, when it’s called for, Acuna can Kirby it up with the best of them. That always helps.

The only gripe I had about this issue was incidental: I will never, ever be cool with the new Fury. I understand their reasons, and I’m aware of the pathetically shoehorned origin behind his presence, but there is only one 616 Fury. But that’s ok. I’m ok with the fact that I will never be ok with it. And, for me, that’s progress.

  12. Pow! Bang! What an issue! Action and romance as only the clever comic creators at the house of ideas know how to do it! Death and destruction on a grande stage. 5 stars and potw! I await with beating heart and bated breath for the next pulse pounding adventure in the pages of THE UNCANNY AVENGERS!

  13. Well that escalated quickly. This comic feels perfect.

  14. I have never read the Avengers before and I have no idea what is going on here. But I like it.
