THUNDERBOLTS #146

Who or what is Unit 23? Luke Cage must lead his new Thunderbolts deep below on their deadliest mission and face the horrors that mankind can become. While S.H.I.E.L.D. was shut down, a now-missing government squad was charged with guarding a cavern full of impure Terrigen crystals…and if these powerful elements morph Inhumans with wild transformations, what in the world will they do to humans? It’s a volatile environment–and a bad time for a challenge to authority from The Juggernaut!

  1. this is the make or break issue for me. This book is solid enough, I guess, just not as good as too many other titles fighting for my dollars.

  2. Lucky for me, I have other books on the chopping block, this one is safe for now.

  3. A very pleasant impulse buy for me – I am definitely looking forward to this issue.

  4. Chopping block for me.

  5. I would say its on the chopping block but I’m staying on til after Shadowland at least.

  6. Parker’s Pre-heroic Age issues were terrible. Really terrible.

But now he’s writing a personally selected cast it seems to be working. Look forward to this.

  7. @Theswordisdrawn: Ture that man, Parker pulled a fast one on us. I just though he was one of those writers that is only good on his own books, like Terry Moore. But I guess he was just doing throw away stories till he got controle of the cast.

  8. I really loved this issue, it remains my favorite of the Avengers books so far. Loving Ghost. Juggernaut’s characterization is just a little off, but otherwise this has been a great book. Kev Walker is awesome, too.

  9. This is a fun book. I’m going to finish out the arc.

  10. Ghost is becoming the break out star of this book, I love every panel he is in. Out of all the books I’ve tried out because of the Heroic Age banner, this is the best.

  11. Ghost is the man. That is all.

  12. I’m way late to the party but I’m reading last week’s books this weeks and I’d just like the record to show that this comic is freakin’ awesome.  I love the structure so far.  A mission is wrapped up and a new one begins each issue, all while characters and relationships are being developed.

I hate to say it because I’ll miss Atlas dearly but I’m by far enjoying this more than Parker’s other comic.

  13. I did not like the first few issues but as this book moved forward it seemed to pick up steam. the battle scenes were well done and the end was promising.  Still not crazy about the art. I will finish this arc but am dropping w the Shadowland crossover.
