  1. yay francis manapul is back, back to back issues with the annual coming out next week. Is manapul doing the all of the art on the annual aswell?

  2. digging the cover…Even though the last few issues have been “ehh”, overall i’ve been loving this book.

  3. on top until people find out Bat Inc 3 comes out this week

  4. This book’s on the chopping block. I want it to be good!

    • Same with me. If this issue and the annual don’t turn this book around I am dropping it for Phantom Stranger.

    • It’s always been close to the chopping block for me, but the great art and the fact that it’s always fun to read always saves it. If the next arc isn’t as interesting as this one then its gone.

    • Kingjoeg: great art and always fun to read sounds like a keeper, not a book to drop.

    • TexasZombie99 – true, but comparing it to Batman or Saga makes it seem average. I really liked this issue however so I think i will be keeping it.

    • Agreed. The writing and stories have been really bad the last few issues. Better step it up or off my pull list you will go!

  5. I am really liking this series. And the artwork is very cool.

  6. Not on the chopping block for me, but the book has slipped from a 4-5 star book to a 3-4 star book. the visuals are great but the overall story remains flat.

  7. This issue was a massive improvement from the last few. It highlighted how much the book benefits from Manapul’s art. The story is finally starting to pick up, and it’s nice to see the Rogues all out in the open. Hopefully they are going to move on from “Al the Bartender”. That just felt weird. And it did seem rather strange how they handled Dr. Elias’ character. “No Flash… I don’t hate you… it was all some sort of social experiment…But I don’t like you either…”. Odd, given how chummy they were in the first issues.

  8. This book had been on the chopping block since issue 1, I kept buying them until last issue because art wise it is one of DC’s best. Sadly, it was also the most boring book on my pull list, I’ll miss Manapul but not because of his writting skills!

  9. Lovvved this. Best issue since #7. My surprise PotW.

  10. I loved this issue as well. The title has really improved since the Mob Rule storyline in the first few issues. I really can’t wait to read the Annual next week now. I’m surprised this has so many negative comments being as it has the 2nd most pulls this week.

    • I’m guessing this was a lot better if you actually knew who the Rogues were and the significance of what was happening. As someone who has no experience with them I found it a little flat. It was interesting but little more.

    • I’m still kind of learning about them too. I never read the Flash until the new 52 started.

    • @perplexeddcreader It is a great benefit to know who the rogues are before hand and they definitely deserve some looking into if you are interested. Rogues’ Revenge is one of the best things to come out of Final Crisis and they are my favorite super villain team in comics, or in general, because where else is there a super villain team?

  11. Best part of this issue: the cameos by Locke, Sawyer, Juliet, Michael and Walt from LOST!

  12. Definitely better than the last few issues, and the return of Manapul on art doesn’t hurt, but the writing is still off for me. Issues are too cluttered and unfocused, throwing elements in randomly rather then weaving a story with them. There was a lot of good stuff in here, but much of it was lost in the shuffle. Pretty, though.

Also, and this has been bugging me: Did the Flash just LEAVE A BUNCH OF PEOPLE STRANDED IN THE SPEED FORCE 6 issues ago? Including Iris? And he hasn’t, like, TRIED to get them out, even after seeing what prolonged exposure to the Force did to Turbine? What a dick!

    • Same here…I kept thinking that the stranded peeps in issue #6 would be resolved, but I think it can be attributed to to ‘Young Writers Syndrome’.

My first red flag in regards to YWS, was how quickly The Flash and Dr. Elias ‘hit it off’. To the point where Dr. Elias had The Flash running on the cosmic treadmill in issue #2 without much lead up.

    • I was wondering the same thing. Seems like a big thread to leave hanging out there. He doesn’t even think about Iris and and the others . Agreed … What a dick

  13. I was happy to see Manapul and Buccellato back for art duties with this issue, since it was loaded with Rogues. I also loved seeing [Golden] Glider again, she brings memories from my childhood reading the old silver age books. Too bad DC decided to cram the plot, though; I would have liked to see a solo Pied Piper issue.

  14. The promise of the first few issues has dwindled. Boy since #5 is has been spinning its wheels. ready to give up on it.
