  1. Alright! I raarely notice when books are late, but the last few weeks have had me hoping to see this on the shipping list and wondering how long it has been since part 5. This and Scalped in the same week? Yay!

  2. I can’t believe this book is FINALLY coming out! This series should have finished in February or March… I hope this issue is worth the wait.

  3. What the fuck happened to this mini? Seriously (sorry for the language) there seemed to have been no rhyme or reason for this to be delayed like hell. I can understand maybe a month…..but 5-6 months!?

    No excuses.

  4. Heh. I was just thinking about this book too.

  5. Finally.  I’ve been looking forward to this.

  6. Woo-hoo. I’m not a Superman fan, but this has been great. But annoying late.

  7. This was like Marvel late… shame on you DC.

  8. Is this still a thing? I keed, I keed. Love the Johns/Frank combo.

  9. 11 months to get 6 issues out.  Damn a Geoff Johns event or miniseries is late LATE excluding Blackest Night.  The next time I hear megaevent or miniseries w/ Geoff Johns & (artist y) I will wait for the HC.

  10. I’ve been purposely waiting on this. I set aside this series issue by issue until I could read it in one sitting. I have nothing but faith that this’ll be a great read.

  11. @mguy77 I think that might be more for the art than Johns, he’s traditionally on time, it’s his artists that hold the series up, like Legion of 3 Worlds (Perez) or Flash: Rebirth (Van Sciver)

  12. This whole series has been pretty much perfect. I have no doubt that this will be worth the wait.

  13. This is pretty much a defining reason as to why I will be scaling back big time on the purchase of "mini series" runs. Could have a nice hard cover book for about the same price that I could easily pass around to friends/family…..

  14. Be honest, this has been a bit ‘Meh’

  15. @edward – you’re back!

@jobob247 – you can get the HC cheaper online too …

  16. Few! Thought I had imagined the first 5 issues.

  17. So when’s Batman Earth One by this team coming out? 😉

    @Postman – Me too! 0:

  18. Im glad I waited to get the hardcover…should be nice and self contained, as I don’t read any Superman stuff.

  19. Yay!!!

  20. I liked the first 5 issues but had completly forgotten about this series until now.

  21. Wow.  I forgot about this.  The first 5 were great.  What a nice surprise.

  22. Waiting for HC for this  Hopefully preorder will still be 50% off at Book depository by the time this comes out.

  23. Yeah there was a long wait for this issue but I’m sure it will be kickass. This will definitely be my first read this week.

  24. Technically, this was a good issue. Nothing was wrong with Johns script or Frank’s gorgeous pencils. However, the wait for a seemingly ho-hum ending is not worth the 4 1/2 month wait. I’m sure this will read well in trade.

    2/5

  25. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

Phenomenal. 5 stars. Johns and Frank really delivered on this one.

  26. The ending felt a little rushed and uneven to me. Not bad, no, but just… too packed for its own good. The art, too, was pretty uneven. Some panels were amazing and breathtaking. And then there’s a panel where Superman is smiling and he doesn’t have a upper lip and Lois’ forehead is twice the size of her lower face. Minor problems, but for how long it took for this to come out I expected a bit more. 4/5

  27. Wow.

  28. Am I the only one who heard the John Williams score at the end? This was amazing. People working on a new Superman movie? Here it is.

  29. I grew up with Christopher Reeve as the one and only Superman. I got a lump in my throat after reading this.

  30. This was a good ending to a good series. but even though I liked it and I like geoff johns it just for some reason(maybe the delay) wasnt great. at some moments I was thinking "now thats superman" and other times not so much. it was a hit and miss in parts for me but I will still buy it in hardcover because i am superman fan and becuause it wasnt bad it just wasnt as good as I thought it would be. Superman Birthright is still my favorite!

  31. Excellent ending. 40 story pages was a nice surprise. This was totally worth the wait.

  32. I guess I shoulda popped into the LCS on Wed, cause this was all sold out the day after. Grrrr. Now I’ll have to wait 2 weeks for the backorder to come in.

  33. Awesome book and my POTW.

  34. Gary Frank is THE Superman artist.  I wish this was an ongoing series.
