  1. I was not planning on picking this up. Will check in for reviews.

  2. Why isn;t Lobo on the cover?

  3. With Milligan at the helm, this is unlikely to be a by-the-numbers lantern spin off. I predict it will either be awesome or birdcage liner, no in-between possible.

  4. I loved X-Force/X-Statix and 5 Ronin, so hoping this is equally awesome.

  5. Is Benes doing interior art too? I like me some Benes. This could be great.

  6. when i first heard of the relaunch, i was most put-off and curious about this title.

  7. I am so excited about this book. I will be getting all of the Green Lantern books, but even if I wasn’t, I would be getting this book. It looks great!!

How is it that this book doesn’t have a lot more hype for it? It is based around such compelling characters.

  8. Where is the great Larflezze??????

    Just sayin’,

    K

  9. Can’t wait for this one!!!

  10. 3/5 but rage kitty was quite fun I have to admit. I think after reading this i’m ready to scale back my green lantern books now that the reboot has happened. May just follow the main green lantern title. Too many other good books I want on my permanent list to keep this one on my pull list.

  11. Is this like the modern version of Venom: Lethal Protector?

  12. 2 for 2 with the Green Lantern books. Loved this, particularly Atrocitus saying “What are you doing with my cat?” (or whatever it was). Definitely a panel of the week for me. I also found myself really intrigued by the way Atrocitus described his relationship with Krona as a marriage.

  13. Smart writing! Good art…except Atrocitus’ daughter’s big mole man goggly eyes…WTF was that? Love the whole having a cat bit, the lovers speech, and, the history lesson. MUCH better than it’s counterpart’s debut.

  14. I’m on the fence about this, should i pick it up? I’m a fan of Atrocitus but Milligan is such a hit-or-miss writer for me i don’t know

  15. 3.2??? You guys are nuts. This book is a solid 4.5! Art is awesome and Milligan’s writing kills. Can’t wait to see how this book develops!

  16. Not really what I expected but I still liked it. It looks like it’s going to be a very interesting expansion of these characters and their role in the universe. Benes’ are was spectacular.

  17. I loved the Dexstarr sequence, but I’m not huge on Atrocitus becoming the Ghost Rider of DC. If I had a higher comics budget, I would come back for #2. A solid 3 out of 5.

  18. The dialog was terrible. The overall story wasn’t bad, just not very interesting. The art was top notch. Gonna give this at least 1 more issue.

  19. This book has been one of the strongest of the #1s so far. Excellent prose and complex deconstruction of characters that until now have been pretty one-dimensional. Atrocitus’ geneology is the most gruesome and bloody of all the emotional spectrum and I’m glad they gave it’s exploration to some one as capable as Milligan. I’ve always been a fan and this book plays to his strengths well. The interiors by Benes are great throughout and I can’t wait for more.

  20. The story turned out a lot better then I was expecting. Art was done well except for a couple of nitpicks, one, yes, being the weird eyes on Atrocitus’ daughter. I also laughed seeing the musculature drawn on Dex-tarr/Rage Kitty in his two page spread at the beginning!

  21. Having not been interested in this book at all (or GL for that matter), after reading I am intrigued… that’s gotta count for something!

  22. The art was very good. The story was good enough for me to come back for #2. Not what I was expecting. Very much a set-up issue, but pretty weird too. I thought the weirdness was a good thing, though – not your average book.

Rage Kitty FTW! I want that two-page Dex on a t-shirt.

  23. So much better than I expected. A fun read and the art was fantastic. The two page title spread of Dex-Starr – priceless. I want more.

  24. I enjoyed the majority of this book, and I read very little of Blackest night, just the #0 issue.

However, I’m on the fence about picking it up regularly due to the pages where Ray and John argue over their dead grandfather. Actually had to set the book down in the middle of reading it. Yuck.

  25. my surprise issue of the week. i wasnt expecting it to be that good but i was clearly mistaken. the art was top-notch and the story was fuckn fantastic! will definitely be coming back for more. strange, i thought for sure this would be one of my drops. but, as it turns out, im keeping this and dropping some of the ones i would have put money on to be successful. crazy

  26. Didn’t care for this too much.

I’m a big Atrocitus fan. And an even bigger Dex fan. This was one long recap, and I found Atrocitus’ reasoning for becoming a “hero” a little questionable.

Gonna stick with it. Looks like it might have some promise. And I’m a fan of Benes. But it better start moving.

  27. Dex is a cat and I do not like cats at all!! However; since this one is not anywhere near me I will say he is BAD ASS!! This was a cool begining and I loved the artwork as well almost a 5..\

    Just sayin’,

    K

  28. is Dex-star homage to dexter from darkly dreaming dexter? this whole bloodthirsty vigilante of vengeance thing has me wondering. dexter should have a comic.
