  1. This is so sad….This has been the most fun comic series I’ve read in a long time. Manhattan Projects might take that title over now that this series is finishing….But it’s sad that not even a book published by one of the big wigs at DC can’t stay afloat. Hopefully we’ll get something out of these two guys down the line, maybe a Kamandi spin off?

  2. If you didn’t buy OMAC, you are part of the problem with comics and you suck.

  3. this hardcover collection will be gorgeous

  4. Let’s make this our Pick of the Week in silent support of our beloved OMAC being deomactivated. This was just too good a series, and I’d love to see more comics in this style.

  5. R.I.P. O.M.A.C….I look forward to seeing you in JLI

  6. Early contender for POTW

  7. For some reason, this cover makes me sad and nostalgic. Farewell O.M.A.C., you were amongst the best of the best!

  8. I’m looking forward to this issue the most out of everything I pull on Wednesday. even moreso than Swamp Thing and Animal Man.

  9. Sigh.

This week I have 2 comics on my pull list. One of them is my first ever issue of Men of War because it has Frank punching planes during WW2.

    The other is OMAC.

Because he’s OMAC and he will no doubt be punching something just as equally interesting.

I will buy and enjoy this last issue. And then I will hold out hope that one day I will get the OMAC/Frankenstein buddy/road-movie mini-series cross-over I long for. A story about an odd couple forced together by extenuating circumstances who every now and then rip each others arms off…

I’m making this my pick of the week. But I cannot see it reaching a satisfying ending as there’s just so much cool stuff going on. This has been easily the funnest book of the whole New 52.

  11. A great series and I hope the story is wrapped up well as I can’t see JLI having him on the team if brother eye is still pulling his strings. I agree with PerplexedDCreader, as OMAC Frankenstein mini has to be done sometime soon.

  12. Such a shame they must end this book. But it was fun while it lasted.

  13. I’ll miss you, OMAC!

  14. i bought every issue of omac right up until it was annouced that i was being cancelled, I just decided to wait for a trade at that point

  15. I know this is hoping beyond hope, but an Absolute Edition with the eight Kirby issues, and these eight issues would probably be my favorite thing ever.

  16. It was an interesting but kind of dull ending. I’ll miss this book. It’s sad to see it go…and with a wrap up rather than ending.

  17. I liked the way it ended, though I will miss the witty quips and banter from Brother Eye. The ending gives O.M.A.C. the ability to transition right into JLI, and the internal struggles of his lost life & uncertain future. Though I will miss the wonderfully awesome “OMACTIVATE!”

  18. This was my POTW because it’s the last time I’ll see ‘fun’ defined in a comic. Seriously, just an action packed and GORGEOUS looking book from beginning to end. Dan Didio and Keith Giffen did some amazing work in this series and I still can’t believe it’s going to be gone….

….So let’s start a campaign, not unlike Community’s return, with a KAMANDI ongoing! We can do it ifanbase!!

    5/5 (POTW)

  19. Let me just say something because I think this is important:

To all 303 people who pulled this book, or to anyone in general who reads this post, I urge you to use this hashtag on twitter:

    #lastboyonearth

I think it’s time DC hears out voice and that voice is simple: We want a Kamandi ongoing series by Dan Didio, Keith Giffen, Scott Koblish, Hi-Fi, and Travis Lanham! If we get enough people to push DC on this we may see this come to fruition!….Maybe not as drastic as Community’s #sixseasonandamovie but something to that effect!

    Thank you.

  20. DiDio and Giffen, you fucking teases. This needed to be a few pages longer, but it was another great issue nonetheless, and set up some very interesting things for the future. Can. Not. Wait.

  21. Just read the last issue and now I’m depressed. It really was the epitome of fun, amonst all the dark and gritty. It will be missed.

    Omactivate the tear ducts. *sniff*

Another briliant issue and look forward to seeing what O.M.A.C. gets up to in JLI

I made this my pick of the week even though it actually wasn’t but thought I show O.M.A.C. some love on his last issue. (my real pick of the week would of been Supreme #63)

Forgot to say but what the hell happened to Maxwell at the end when he turned into some kind of train monster thing? (3 comments in a row but I didn’t plan it that way)
