  1. I keep saying it in the very slight chance DC might listen but those banners are the most revolting things you can put on a comic book.

  2. Looking forward to more forward to more, but totall forgot what happened last ish. Guess I’m re-reading that!

  3. Can’t wait for this issue. Loving this crossover.

  4. Why isn`t Flash being used in this crossover, or too busy dealing with Grodd

  5. That is one ugly title design. Didn’t notice it before until now thanks to that ugly Arrow banner.

    • The title doesn’t bother me. What bothers me is that a year and a half after the relaunch, we’re still seeing “The New 52!” on the cover of every book. Shouldn’t it be “The Now 36!”?

    • I thought they were always going to have 52 titles? I know they cancelled some but they have replaced them with new ones, I thought anyway…..

  6. Last issue was my favorite one since the relaunch. I’m hopeful that Reis is enough to keep me interested after the crossover.

  7. Is Johns still gonna write this title after JLA comes out? I hope so.

  8. It’s quite telling that most of the comments so far about this book are about that Arrow banner on the cover, and not the story or art or anything JL related. Hmmmm

    • Guess the ad’s successful then, eh?

    • It’s not successful. It’s not making us want to watch the show, it’s not going to give us an impression that will later recall the show positivally. Its just in the way, making the cover of this comic book look a bit uglier than it needs to. If anything, the placement of the ad banner is giving fans a sour image of the brand.

  9. i think the story is quite compelling, im enjoying it.god forbid we say something about the stupid add hopefully make dc notice and stop it. sorry ghostmann

  10. I HOPE BATMAN BEATS THE SHIT OUT OF AQUAMAN. even though that really isnt possible and batman is just a regular guy who happens to be badass. i would be allright with him just beating the living crap out of aquaman and leaving him for dead. its a comic book for christs sake they can find a way.

  11. Can you blame Aquaman for his reaction? I mean this is *finally* a Sea-based threat. Aquaman gets to be the Leader. Not Batman! Batman gets to be the leader during detective missions!

  12. I just don’t like aquaman and I would much enjoy seeing batman woop the shiznit out of him. Batman is the leader regardless.

  13. Reis on art and the SHAZAM back-up are keeping this on my pull list.

  14. Good issue but that whole confrontation at the start was just ridiculous and frustrating with all these egotistical supermen and ladies refusing to show sense and reason. I know these guys can split oceans and lift mountains but they aren’t supposed to be stupid.

  15. It have taken 16 issues but I’m finally starting to warm up to Johns’ Justice League..And that last two pages….double fist pumps in the air..

  16. Between the Throne of Atlantis and the Shazam back-up, JL just became my favourite DC book. On top of everything Ivan Reis and Gary Frank are my favourite DC artists. PotW.

  17. Wow. From Superman boiling the ocean to Aquaman vs. Wonder Woman to the awesome call to arms, THIS is everything I want out of a Justice League comic. The brilliant art and stellar back-up don’t hurt, either.

  18. Ok, THIS was the best issue since the relaunch. This is the Geoff Johns I’ve been missing.

5/5. Might even be my POTW. Remains to be seen.

  19. I miss Jim Lee’s Batman and Diana, but Reis is one smooth motherfucker. Of course, Johns is solid as always.
I’m pumped for JLA. Hell, I can’t wait for Aquaman.
    5/5.
    POTW

  20. I’ve been very happy with the ‘Throne of Atlantis’ cross-over (it has me reading both Aquaman & JL – that hasn’t happened since the relaunch!). Johns has done a fabulous job on Aquaman and its exciting to see him get to shine in JL.

My only complaint was the mention of WILL MAGNUS and the METAL MEN in a somewhat negative tone – I really wish they would make an appearance in the New 52!

  21. This should be renamed Justice League of Assholes, because that’s what it really is.

Also, I do not understand why Vibe and Katana have a series by ShazaMarvel doesn’t. I mean the backup is why we are really reading this book, aren’t we.

  22. “Justice League” has been blessed with some great artists (Jim Lee, Tony Daniel, etc). “Aquaman” suffers without Reis so I’m glad he popped up here. “Throne of Atlantis” has been a good arc and while I prefer the solo books (except for Flash and Superman, it’s a shame but it’s true) this was another solid JL issue.

  23. I hope I’m not the only one on this, but I cannot get enough of SHAZAM! and Aquaman. The New 52 has only strengthened my love for these characters and I only hope that Hawkman will get up there with them.

  24. I really love the Throne of Atlantis so far, but I wish they would have put the Shazam backup on hold while doing this crossover and give us 6 more pages of the story in each issue. I’m sure there are more people than just me who are only buying the JL issues for the crossover and the Shazam story just takes up room that could be used for the war. I’m sure the Shazam story is great, but not when you start on part 8 or 9.

  25. Ivan Reis, Joe Prado, and Rod Reis rocked this issue with the coolest fighting scenes; especially that spread with the Atlantean armada rising out of the water, with Arthur, Diana, and Orm in the foreground… amazing! I was a bit bummed that Mera did not play any role in the story, but the last page was like “yeah!!!”

Comments and feedback are always welcome!

  26. Ivan Reis is amazing. I’m thinking of adding this to my pull list since he’s not on Aquaman anymore. POTW!

  27. Another awesome JL issue! And Reis is amazing. I really can’t tell the difference between him and Lee on art on this title. They are both just so good.
