  1. Yay Brit!

  2. There’s a preview of this on comic book resources if you want to see the first 9 pages.  I love that this starts up at the same point as Invincible #71, but it’s told from a different perspective.

As a side-note, it’s really weird to see these characters drawn by someone not named Ryan Ottley.

  3. so which title is it? guarding or guardians of?

  4. Avatar photo PymSlap (@alaska_nebraska) says:

Remember how funny the promos for this were?

  5. @smeeeeee: it’s guarding, but I think they had too much promotional stuff out to change it all after Marvel made their big stink and that’s why some of it still says guardians

  6. Gotta get this because I love the characters and Invincible… but I’m worried about these characters not being drawn by Ottley.  Please don’t let me down Ransom Getty!

  7. KABOOMERANG!

  8. @diebenny: From what I saw in the preview the art looks good, it just felt a little weird because it wasn’t Ottley.

  9. Very solid team book. It does everything right for me. And looks to be a portal for new heroes to be created.

  10. A good read, but very text heavy in places. Not a great first issue if you’re not reading Invincible. 4/5

  11. This was a blast.  Sort of a getting the team together story.  The art was great…especially when Getty inked his own pencils.  Definitely on my pull list.

  12. I agree that if you aren’t reading Invincible you may not like this issue as much, but I thought it was a pretty solid first issue.  The gags with Brit’s new costume were great.

  13. This issue wasn’t that great, but you shouldn’t be turned away because Ottley isn’t drawing it. Ransom Getty’s art looks amazing in this book.

  14. "All your hopes and dreams dripping from elbows"

All right, with lines like that, I am an instant Set fan.
