  1. Yes.

  2. Is that a general yes for this book, or are you answering the solicit’s question. I think that is probably the correct response for both.

  3. Yeah, that’d be my reply to both of those questions to Rusty.

  4. @Rustyautoparts-You are a wise man.  T’was indeed an answer to both of those questions.

    P.S. I heart Sodam Yat ^__^

  5. that girl has a piggy nose.  🙂

  6. Does "penultimate" get used much outside of comic book solicitation copy?

  7. I hope we get to see a bit more of the prison breakout. Not to say I dont like anything else about this arc. But after seeing the great splash pages from last issue; I want more prison fights!

  8. @sythspawn

Comics use it so much, they even use it when it’s not true.  GL Corps 36 used it as well =

  9. @sythspawn: I first heard the word from my freshman music theory professor. He used it to describe the second to last measure, second to last symphony, etc. Great word.

  10. @sythspawn- it is used so much in comic solicitation because no other word better says,  "new readers beware, this IS NOT a good jumping on point"

  11. Sodam!

  12. Cant wait to read this one.  Blackest night cant get here fast enough for me.

  13. can blackest night start already

  14. @sythspawn Ehh, it’s fairly common, but probably more prevalent in comics. It’s used in reference to TV shows. And as Rusty said, it’s used a lot in music.  I’ve also heard it a few times in Baseball. However, this is often because baseball announcers just say things to cover air.

@oldmanlogan88 You have, more or less, one month.

Really excited for this issue! Can’t wait.

  15. This is the penultimate comment I will make about this issue of Green Lantern Corps!!

  16. GLC has been awesome lately! YES!

  17. @BrandonP – If by "lately" you mean, since issue #1, I agree 😉

Hope we have a Tango & Cash style prison break out scene.

  18. She might be the green lantern of the fraggle rock sector

  19. This was another great issue by Tomasi. Loved all of the prison fight in this. Especially the callbacks of some of the other major villains for the corps.

Gleason made me a bit worried in the beginning….Looked really uneven. Overall he won be back once the Sodam parts were over.

  20. This was a fantastic issue that actually seemed to have more to do with starting Blackest Night than the regular GL book has lately.

I’m still a little worried about a planet full of racist supermen though.

  21. this was a pretty good issue…  i have no real complaints…  but i am having a hard time getting excited about GL or GLC right now…  i wonder if anyone else is feeling the same…  i think i’m just burnt out with the whole GL "universe"…  which is a shame seeing how Blackest Night is about to start up…  maybe i just can’t stick with a book for that long…  i get bored…  i read every issue of the latest GL and GLC volumes in the last year or so…  maybe i’ve had enough…  i passed on the last GL issue and i think i am done with GLC for now…  i will still be getting Blackest Night…  and i will probably give GL another shot when Doug Mahnke starts drawing because i like his work…

  22. @insight: I’m a little burnt out on the regular GL title. It’s been a bit boring lately.

This comic however continues to deliever on a fun and action at a fast pace.

  23. Another awesome issue.

  24. The one thing that amazes me about this title is how much story Tomasi crams into a single issue.  He’s got to be balancing four or more plot lines right now and he’s doing it with remarkable success.  I feel that something relevant happens in every issue, which is not something I can say for a lot of comics these days.  (Just check out the latest issue of Batman).

  25. Great issue. After meeting Tomasi in person at NYCC was awesome. A lot of what he told me about liking writing characters like Arisa nad Guy clearly translates. As well, this book totally revitalized my feelings for blackest night. The sense of impending dread from the Ash/Sarrek scenes was quite good. As well… what happened to Lyssa Drax? 5/5, POTW for me.

  26. I hear the actual blackest night is just one issue, but the aftermath lasts for about 2348 more issues after that.

  27. Another awesome issue from the most consistantly good superhero comic I read (only Scalped is a more consistantly good overall comic). This issue had pretty much everything you could want from a comic book.
    My POTW!
