  1. This will be my last issue. It’s been fun, but my wallet is a bit sore at the moment and something has to go. It was either this or Runaways… sorry, Deadpool.

  2. come on this is the superior series. Can the Runaways beat the skrullls with craziness.

  3. cber has a point… Nothing beats the merc with the mouth

  4. nothing

  5. Nothing. Except Runaways. And Astonishing X-Men. And Invincible Iron Man. Oh, and Punisher War Journal. Did I mention Runaways? 🙂

Its all opinion, folks, and mine is that the Runaways are more interesting and don’t have horrific Liefield variants, Oh, and what do the skrulls have to do with RUNAWAYS?

    "Nothing."  🙂

  6. I know. i am just saying that Deadpoll is good old fashion violence that is humorous. Runaways a little too much teenage angst.

  7. Yeah thats what we have 90210 for…  What?  Stop Judging me!

  8. im not judging used to be a dawson creek fan

  9. I dont care what Ron says, and now Josh and Conor since they dont wanna read this either…..This is a great series! It’s funny, its a good read, and the art is top notch. Maybe it isnt POTW material every week, but this is a soild new series for Deadpool. Definitely give it a try if you want some fun in your comics.

  10. Thinking about hopping off after this issue as well.

  11. This is a good week..  just read Deadpool will be in Marvel Zombies this week also, that should be interesting

  12. The only thing better than a new Deadpool series is a bi-weekly new Deadpool series, I just wish that schedule would remain that way…. **sighs**

  13. @cyberauron – I think the point of Runaways is to be a teen book, and a fun one at that. Just because Deadpool is fun and violent at the same time, doesn’t mean it’s better. The books are really too different to compare.

  14. the first issue of runaways was kind of lame….deadpool is kind of tempting……but….maybe i’ll skip out on both.

  15. @J4K3 I know man and thats your choice. I just love this series. In the second issue they made Deadpool skrulls and deadpool convinced them to shoot everyone and themselves. Im just saying this series is original

  16. Plus who needs the runaways now. we have new xmen and young avengers. How many  teen title do we need

  17. Debating myself on whether or not to give the next arc a try.

  18. Looooved it.  But who the hell was the guy at the end?  I don’t read much marvel.  some help?

  19. @Charlie: It was…..*SPOILER!*

    Norman Osborne

  20. @cman12 Deadpool is going to fight zombies. Zombies! Thats worth the three dollars. Also if you care about plot there maybe more to why Norman Osbourne stole Furys data. Also, if their is Osbourne the green goblin and thunderbolts may turn up.

  21. This and Ms. Marvel have proven something great about Dark Reign: Norman osborn is going to play a huge, awesome role.

  22. I never read Deadpool before and let me tell you this is a fun book.  Fast read and I like the art work and let me tell #2 has one of the best lines" holla atcha boy!"  I lost my shit laughting so hard.

  23. It’s shocking. Ron is being pigheaded about rejecting this volume of Deadpool, because Dan Way is the writer, but he is dead wrong.

This version of Deadpool is funny, entertaining, fast-paced, and relevant. That’s a pretty good accomplishment for Way (at least over 3 issues).

  24. It’s not pig-headed to avoid a writer whose work you don’t like.  It’s sensible.

  25. @conor totally understand.  The writer may have changed, but his past writing shows what to expect.  I just enjoy deadpool, so it’s great to see him in action.  As for Way, I think writing DP helps, he’s not a overly hard charctor. a crazy vilent dude.

  26. @conor in the past i havnt really enjoyed Way either, but he does a rather good job on deadpool.  i almost didnt buy this because of Way.

  27. but im glad i did

  28. I understand if you dont like Way, it sounds like he’s been pretty medicore when you look at his overall career. But this IS A GOOD SERIES, this is WRITTEN WELL, and IT IS A FUN COMIC. Just give it a try Josh, Ron, and Conner….Please! I’m not asking you to buy a mint contition of Action Comics #1 or try and find God. Just pick the first 3 issues of this series and see how you like it! Heck, read it in your store and dont buy it! Just give it a try, give peace a chance Ifanboy Trinity!

  29. FYI This is in secomd place for pick of the week. Note it wont be 1st since action comics is at eighty, but second should get a mention on the podcast. yeah!

  30. Hands-down my new favorite Marvel series.  Every issue (and I know there’s only been 3), I’ve done nothing but laugh and have a good time.

As for which you should buy; Runaways or Deadpool, I’m going with Deadpool.  BKV’s Runaways was an awesome series.  Whedon’s: meh.  Moore’s: Losing me…

But then again, just one fans opinion.

  31. @Ron, Conor, and Josh

Perhaps pigheaded was too pejorative a word. Conor – you are right that the best way to judge a writer is by his prior work. I just think that there are enough people who have been touched by this solid book that perhaps it is worth just one more chance for Dan Way.

  32. @The people trying to convince the iFanboys to read Deadpool — Why would it affect your reading experience in any way if someone else reads this?

    Splorch.

  33. Kinda funny that we have to be set straight on Deadpool by WadeWilson himself!

  34. @wadewilson It does not, but it is fun arguing with people who hate the most original, fun, action pack book. I love it and more people should read it.

  35. Hey if it wasnt for Action Comics this would’ve been the user’s POTW!

Look at the list; this issue beat out Walking Dead, Detective Comics, and Green Lantern! Okay maybe not by a big margin but it still beat out those fan favorite series. So obviously this series has hit some type of nerve with the INation.

  36. i really enjoyed this book. not quite to the level that thenextchampion did. it isn’t the best book out there. it wasn’t even the best book out this week. it is worth picking up if sometimes you just want to pick up a comic book and have fun with it.

to be honest, i didn’t know who way was before i read this book but it seems the ifanboy guys don’t just dislike him, they got some hate for him. i’m placing money on him taking one of their mothers to a nice lobster dinner and never calling her again. just a guess.

bottom line: deadpool is a good fun book but i wouldn’t drop something like walking dead to pick it up. if you’ve got the wallet flexibility, do it to it.

  37. I’m enjoying this series more and more with each issue. I liked issue 1 simply because it was fun. Issue 2 got a little more insane, and then in this story they just throw something out of the blue at you and I loved it. Looking forward to the next one.
