  1. I love that the first printing is sold out already. I want another long running Spencer book to tide me over in between issues of Morning Glories not to mention the art by Riley Rossmo looks incredible!

    • Ya this looked great, speaking on Morning Glories though I read the first trade and after finishing reading it wasn’t sure how I felt about it, does it get any better after that?

  2. Holy crap I can’t wait for this! One of my most anticipated books.

  3. Thanks guys. We’re excited. If you’re on the fence, there’s a free 22-page preview of the book already up on comixology and graphicly, give it a shot.

  4. This is going to be a good title, even if the first print is sold out, as i normally only go for first prints of titles, the second print is still a definite pick up for me!

  5. I was sold with the preview so I’ve pre-bought the first four issues, anything image does just seems to be a winner at the moment!

  6. Riley Rossmo has been drawing so many new Image books.

  7. This comic is amazing. The art is phenomenal. The writing is tremendous. The over-sized first issue gives readers a really good taste of the world that Spencer and Riley are building. I’m hooked. I was lucky to score a few copies of the NYCC variant and a copy of NYCC sketch variant and had both of them signed, sketched and slabbed. I almost broke my cell when I looked at completed listings on eBay and saw that a CGC 9.8 sketch NYCC variant sold for over $500. The horror and thriller fans will love this book, but mature readers who enjoy books that are thought provoking are going to come back for each and every issue of this series. Riley’s art is a perfect fit for the title. I imagine that this book is going to continue to get heat and that Hollywood is going to come knocking and try ans score the rights to this book. The lead character makes Dexter Morgan look like an boy scout. I’m not sure what the print run is on this book, but my LCS sold out of 150 copies before it put the books on the shelves just from people calling in to reserve multiple copies. Regardless of the success of this book in the secondary market, which will undoubtedly suffer from all of the regional and convention variants, this book is a great read and I hope that everyone over the age of 18 puts this book on their pull list and gives it a shot. You will not be disappointed.

  8. This book was amazing! Totally blown away. Madder Red is totally creepy. Unexpected awesomeness. This book mad my Halloween! 😀

  9. Already know what I’m doing for a halloween costume for next year!

  10. Oh Nick Spencer… How I love you.

  11. is this a miniseries? or ongoing?

  12. I hadn’t heard about this till this morning when I looked through some of the new releases. This was really great. May be my favorite issue-one since Saga #1.

  13. Great book, especially on Halloween! I read the 22-page free preview on Comixology and was stoked for issue #1. Did not disappoint. Rossmo’s art was fantastic and great use of minimal color. Spencer’s writing and dialogue was top notch. It was a lot of “explaining” by Madder Red but without being cliche or boring. Awesome value as well! Lotta pages, little price, lots o’ Bedlam goodness. Must read! Can’t wait to see where it goes from here.

  14. This was fantastic I’m on board

  15. It’s a great value and has great art, but some of those walls of text really ground me down, and yeah, it’s essentially a re-skined. Joker story. I’ll likely get the next issue. 4/5.

  16. Love the design on the bad guy. Very creepy. Riley is one of my favorite artists so I was already looking forward to this. It surpassed my expectations. Good stuff!

  17. I didn’t know anything about this book, but it was FANTASTIC. Do yourself a favor, read it. Difficult. Difficult to say, but this is highly likely to be my POTW.

  18. It’s not so often that a good villain gets created. This may be the best villain created since The Governor.

    • I would agree. Madder Red out-Jokers the Joker. His dialogue sounds like it could have come from Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, but he’s not a copy. It’s original enough to not be just a copy.

  19. Cool looking but nothing special

  20. This book was such a surprise. I didn’t know anythning about it going in, but right off the bat I loved it!
