  1. I thought Chris Bachalo was drawing this?

  2. Things I want in this comic: Loads of massive carnage.

  3. Well, somebody is, and I don’t think it’s Tim Townsend. He has been Bachalo’s inker for awhile so, I’m sure it’s just a typo.

  4. It’s gotta be a typo, or at least it better be, Bachalo is fantastic and I’ve been looking forward to this issue.

  5. Yeah Bendis said Bachalo is doing this. Loved what he did with the Marvel Boy becomes the Protector stuff not too long ago, so I’m really looking forward to this. Subscribing directly to Marvel as of issue 13 or so for all three Avengers titles that I buy (Avengers, NA & SA).

  6. Bachalo? God damn you Bendis! You know my one weakness….

  7. Bachalo’s old Uncanny X-Men crap drove me crazy. One of the biggest reasons I stopped the book.

  8. Was about to drop but change in artist meens I’m back on for another month! I don’t care who the artist is… they could blind fold Bendis and ask him to do it and I’d still take it over the pages Romita Jr. has been turning in recently.

  9. @origamikid  Great point. I actually dropped the title BECAUSE of Romita’s “art”. His attempt at style is a complete turn-off. And his early stuff shows he can do better.

  10. I love Bachalo as well but man, seeing Alan Davis’s name there makes me wish he was doing this.

  11. I don’t know if two artists could be more different stylistically than Davis and Bachalo. Love ’em both though, and I’m looking forward to reading this.

@keith7198  Between this and your comments on the Chew #27 PotW page, I have to wonder wether you actually like comics. I dare you to say something nice about a book.

  12. This issue was well written with some great character developement moments.  But, it all took place before Fear It Self (so it being under the baner seems wrong), there was no action/combat, so if you are looking for something that will move the Fear It Self plot foward, look elsewhere.

  13. Good issue.

    Still hate Bachalo’s art.

  14. This was pretty pointless to me, other than to see Hawkeye mac on Spider-Woman.  Seeing Wolvie hanging out with his mask off finally was refreshing as well.  I don’t see the point of the Red Hulk being an Avenger, they’re basically hanging out with General Ross…lame.

  15. @Actualbutt…Wow! So if someone isn’t crazy about Chew and doesn’t like Bachalo there’s reason to question whether they like comics? You have a weird measuring stick dude.

  16. Liked it. Only Bendis can write a superhero book with this many talkie panels. Well, like Everything except the last panel with Spidey talking, that was lame dialogue.

  17. First Avengers book that I’ve bought in about 10 years. Art was good, but the writing was absolutely horrible. Don’t think I’ll try this again until that Bendis-stench has been aired out of this book.

  18. A bit of an odd story. The cover was misleading. Overall it was solid read.

  19. Good luck with that bpepple! Bendis is single handly dumbing down Marvel comics and especially the Avengers for about 10 years or so now. Maybe longer. I’ve been waiting for this hack to screw off for awhile now but it just keeps getting worse.

  20. Bendis needs early retirement, and to stop featuring Spider Woman so much. She’s just not interesting. They had to make her a skrull during Secret Invasion in order to make her interesting.

  21. Man I love Bachalo’s art, especially with Bendis. I don’t know why buy these two just work so well together.

  22. What a fun read!

  23. Did spiderman really barf twice because the hulk ate an egg?  I dont get it?

I can’t take Bendis writing anymore.  616 Spiderman is totally asinine and flippant, Cage and Jones sassy couple schtick is super played out.  Please someone give him a job in TV!
