  1. The Lois Lane hes got with him is a robot right ?

  2. Nah, Luthor just worked the D.E.N.N.I.S. system.

  3. I am interested to see how Cornell does with Luthor. I’m in for a few issues at least. Woods is hit and miss for me. He does cool, intricate landscapes/backgrounds, but his faces are hit and miss and he often looks hurried to me.

  4. Cover is making me pull this. I can not turn down anything Orange Lantern.

  5. Stoked for some Paul Cornell story goodness. So, still no Superman in Action Comics?

  6. @ScottH — Not for this…10-12 issue arc, at least. Not the main focus, anyway.

Still, this sounds really interesting–I’m definitely checking this one out. 🙂

  7. @NawidA lol

Regardless of whether that’s the real Lois or not I’m really looking forward to this and hope Cornell can dig in for a nice long run.

  8. Enjoyed listening to Paul Cornell.

  9. I’m intrigued by the concept of this story and I’m going to pull this arc, not normally into Action (except for that Johns/Frank run a few years ago).

  10. I’m into this. I was going to get it just for Paul Cornell but now after don’t miss I am excited. I can’t wait to see what he does with lex luthor and the rest of the dcu

  11. This looks t be very fun.

  12. I was ready to drop all superman titles following war of the supermen but I am tempted by this. Do we know if the orange lantern lex is just a marketing thing

  13. So…is Superman a character in Action Comics anymore? The whole New Krypton/War of the Supermen thing has left me more than a little confused as to which book(s) actiually star(s) Superman.

  14. I can’t speak for what Action will be in the future, but for now its going to focus on Lex for a while.  Superman stars Superman now.

  15. @themanagement: During JMS’s run, Superman is (supposedly) only going to be appearing in SUPERMAN.

Also, ACTION COMICS has a long history of focusing on characters other than Superman. This isn’t a new thing.

  16. omg "lois Smash mode" hahahahaha this so good.

favorite line "hasn’t even been tested on the homeless"

  17. Loved it up to the Villain reveal, but I’ll give it another shot.

  18. This is going to end up being the go-to Lex Luthor story, isn’t it?

  19. Man this was really good. I loved the preview, but this cinched it. I didn’t much care for the villains or the stooges, but I really dug Cornell’s voice for Luthor. He’s certainly more grounded – more so than even under Johns’ pen – and focused. The art was good, but Luthor’s age is a little inconsistent in some pages. Love the Lane-bot, too. 5/5 for me, a little generous because it was such a "surprise" in terms of quality.

  20. This was excellent. Cornell’s Luthor is great.

  21. Ahh DC finally back to what makes Luthor a good villain. Not a guy who can physically can go toe to toe with Supes but a business man with a scary amount of power and reach. I’ve always hated outwardly evil super villain Luthor and preferred the untouchable philanthropist with a heart of gold.  I liked Superman having to fight the public opinion of Luthor as well as thwarting any scheme he has cooks up.  Thank you.

  22. 100% love.
