Let’s hop into the way-back machine. It’s December 2010. New York is battling the Snowpocalyspe. Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” is on top of the charts. And Justice League: Generation Lost #15 is the iFanboy Pick of Week.
As with all truly great iFanboy Pick of the Week Podcasts, the show goes off the rails with the discussion of Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee’s My Boyfriend Thor Thor: The Mighty Avenger #7 and some hilariously inappropriate jokes about Thor’s love life. Post-Coital Thor would go on to join the ranks of Arthur of Maine, Bad Roommate Black Panther, and Middle Management Red Skull as a beloved iFanboy running gag.
Fast-forward to this weekend’s fantastic MorrisonCon and the Sunday Morning Hangover Breakfast & Sketch Jam with the talented artist Chris Burnham. Lucky con-goers were able to choose something for Burnham to draw in their hardcover convention programs live in front of the audience. I was one of those lucky few.
After seeing Burnham’s interpretation of Morrison’s Batman villain Professor Pig dancing in a thong and heels, I was so morbidly fascinated by the disgustingly detailed fat rolls and cellulite that I almost asked for Princess Leia strangling Jabba the Hut. But in my heart, there was only one sketch it could be.
