BQ: Sadly, I’ve never left the states. But my ex and I used to make an annual trip out to her mom’s ranch in Tuscon, AZ. Those were always great vacations for a suburban boy with a lifelong cowboy fantasy. It’s so beautiful out there. I miss those trips more than I miss my ex.

I’m picking up Animal Man for the first time for the Rot World mini-event. Also I’m going to check out Hawkeye #1. I’m a fan of Matt Fraction and since I’m dropping The Mighty Thor as it starts to tie in to Journey Into Mystery, I need something to read written by him that’s not Invincible Iron Man.
BQ: I’d like to go to one of the beaches in California. I don’t like beaches, but it’s a great place to meet women.
Looking forward to some Aja on Hawkeye, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, and Harvest sounds interesting enough to give it a shot.
BQ: New Orleans. My wife and I went for our honeymoon, and earlier this year we went back with ten or so of our friends, and had maybe the best vacation I’ve ever had. Love that city.
I can ditto that. Me and Missus Pyynk went for our honeymoon, stayed at a bed & breakfast just outside the French Quarter. I ate so much seafood I think I started growing fins.

EARTH 2 and AVENGERS VS. X-MEN are my most anticipated picks for this week. Esp the former, as Robinson has totally won me over with this concept for Earth 2 that I never wanted and yet now love.
BQ: My favorite vacay destination is easily Italy. To me, it has the best food, prettiest language, most attractive people, and most interesting history and culture. As for places I want to see for the first time… Japan!
Super light week this week, but I’ll be making up for it by picking up last week’s books since I was (ironically) on vacation!

Probably the best vacation was the epic road trip I took with my buddies on what we knew would be our last hurrah. Driving from south Alabama to waaaaay west Texas for a wedding. We saw the Marfa mystery lights, blitzed through New Orleans, visited San Antonio, and generally had a blast.

BQ: My honeymoon in Hawaii was by far the best vacation ever. I’d really like to visit England some day.
It was originally going to be a lighter week for me, but I think I am going to pick up Animal Man and Swamp Thing for the first time since I read the New 52 #1’s.

BQ: Traveling is my other hobby. My favourite trip was a 10 month “holiday” that took me from Australia to New Zealand to Singapore to Malaysia to Borneo to Bangkok and then back home to Amsterdam. Caye Caulker in Belize was also fantastic. On my wish list is an overland trip from Cape Town via Namibia and Botswana to Zambia. Actually I’m saving up for that.
Action is top of the pile with Earth2 right under it. after that it’s USM, Red Lanterns, Nite Owl, DD and AoA
BQ: took a cruz from Miami to the Bahamas. Once my wife and i got there, we stayed for a week at a private resort ON the beach looking out. the whitest sands and bluest waters i have ever seen.
worst part: got food poisoning the night before we embarked the ship to go back to Miami. 6 hours on a ship with that almost killed me. my best and worst vaction stories come from the same trip.

BQ: When I was 15, I got an all expenses paid trip to Cancun Mexico! My aunt and uncle had a time share in a 5 star hotel down there and asked me if I wanted to act as the nanny to my two younger cousins. I got to climb Mayan pyramids, eat the freshest sea food, and enjoy white sand beaches in exchange for changing diapers and playing with Barbies and dinosuars!
Ditto on StormWatch. I gave up after last issue.

BQ:In college I did a southwest roadtrip with a couple of friends from school, we hit up the Great Sand Dunes Nat’l Park in CO, Roswell, NM, Carlsbad Caverns in NM, The Grand Canyon, White Sands, NM, and finally Joshua Tree Nat’l Park on our way to my parents in SoCal. It was a lot of driving, but we got to see some pretty amazing country. The top of my wish list includes: Japan, Russia, and the British Isles in no particular order. I also really want to wander around mainland Europe before I die, and hit up Australia/New Zealand. Damn, I really need to save some cash and go on a trip.
I am picking up a number of books but Fury Max and Daredevil are top of my list. I am also really digging this new Shadow series. I might pick up Hawkeye if it looks good.
BQ: England for the culture/history but the Philippines for fun; I was in the navy so I went all over the place, but, then it really wasn’t a vacation after all…

Light week (yay!), but super Marvel-centric.
BQ: Best place ever? Hrm. The girlfriend and I rented a vacation house on the Russian River for a week a couple of years ago. Took a pile of books, comics, movies and we just hung out, grilled food and drank wine. Went wine tasting one day and had a massage another. Maybe not glamorous, but it was the most relaxing trip ever.
BQ: St. George’s Island, FL. Beautiful and very quiet.
Only FuryMax #5 for me this week, but that’s okay because it’s favourite book on the stands not called “Scalped.”

My most anticipated books this week are Courtney Crumrin, Fury Max, Daredevil and The Defenders. And Hawkeye.
I’m waiting for AvX to end. I’m not disliking it but I prefer smaller scale stories. I’m growing tired.

I’m dropping nothing because the bulk of my English reading is Marvel and I’m waiting for the re-whatever to reorganize my Marvel roster.

If it is a small week for you and you’re not looking to pick up Marvel/DC books, I urge you to check out some great indy books this week like Mind The Gap, Black Kiss II #1, Think Tank #1 from Top Cow or one of the reprints of the first few issues of Saga (the best book being published today). I think if fans gave these a chance they would discover how great these books are and how insane they are for not picking them up.
After watching the trailer for Skyfall I’m not thinking about books…mind officially blown! And Dark Knight Returns looks amazing too!

Fury rocks!!! Loved Earth 2 and Ultimate Spider-man was great fun. Still DD and Night Owl to come. AvX undecided but i think this is the one i liked the most, feels like something is going to happen now, thank god we are seeing the other X-men turning on the PFF (yeah i said it) Trying to guess what Ron will pick this week. Small week for me but really having a good time. Ain’t comics great.
