BQ: Heat which for the life of me I can not understand how it was not at least nominated for best picture of 1995. That is the Michael Mann epic. And that ending with Al Pacino staring off to the tangerine dream song. Amazing
I love the music at the end when Pacino is holding De Niro’s hand. It’s a song by Moby and it is on my running playlist. I love that music. And good movie too.

BQ: I just took the plunge into Orphan Black this weekend, and it’s fucking Rad. If you haven’t checked it out, get on that. I’m also trying to focus more on physical fitness, so in addition to a healthier diet I’m in a Basketball league, on a regular jogging schedule, and this week I start a job driving a pedi-cab (bicycle taxi). My spare tire should be gone by Summer’s end or I’m going to start rage-eating.

The books I’m looking forward to the most are Six-Gun Gorilla #1, Helhiem #4 (really liked the last issue), Savage Wolverine #6 (for Joe Mad) and Breath of Bones: A Tale of the Golem #1. Ever since being in Prague and seeing where the ‘real’ Golem is supposed to be kept, I’ve been facinated by stories about it.

BQ: Watching The Venture Bros. I have not watched the new episodes yet, for various reasons, so I’m catching up on DVD right before I go into them.
A light week for me: Batman, Demon Knights and Guardians of the Galaxy. I read the first issue of Dream Merchant, liked it, but maybe not enough to buy the rest of the series in issues. May also pick up a trade for my vacation reading (leave on Thursday).
Was originally going to get Unchained for Snyder, but, I think I’m going to pass. I’d rather save my money for The Wake. Maybe if I hear really good things I’ll pick it up next visit.

Everyone else has already talked about American Vampire and Batman, which both look to be fantastic. Black Beetle has been a fun ride and frankly Francavilla’s enthusiasm for the project is contagious. As for Transformers, it’s been nice getting to see Simon Furman and Andy Wildman wrap up the story they started all those years ago in Marvel’s Transformers run.
BQ: The gym. A recent sore knee has sidelined me and I’m frankly irritated as hell. Hoping to hear back tomorrow about the results of x-rays I did on Friday. Also 60’s spy thrillers; everything from Bond to the Man From U.N.C.L.E. to Steranko era SHIELD. The missus has been happy about this one since I started wearing suits more frequently.
The Black Beetle is one of the 15 best comics being published right now. Can’t wait for that issue.

BQ: Masters of the Universe has become an obsession with the MOTU classics, the comics, the Castle of Grayskull, Eternia ….the expanded story that spans ancestors from the distant past to the far future all on top of added depth to the classics I grew up with.
