Comments

  1. An awfully expensive week:

    ABSOLUTE TOP TEN HC
BATMAN NOIR: EDUARDO RISSO HC (DELUXE EDITION)
MORNING GLORIES #27 (COVER A: EISMA)
THE NEW TEEN TITANS OMNIBUS, VOL 03 HC
    THE WAKE #1

BQ: No holiday in the Netherlands. ‘t was sunny finally, but I had to work 🙁

  2. – X-Men #1
    – Earth 2 Annual #1

Another light week, sadly. This is becoming a regular thing now-a-days!

BQ: Had BBQed Steak and watched the Incredible Hulk! I really wish Disney would have kept Edward Norton on as the Hulk. He was the perfect Bruce Banner.

  3. Captain America 7
    Chew 34
    Fury Max 12
    Indestructible Hulk 8
    New Avengers 6
    The Wake 1
    Wolvie and the X-Men 30
    X-men 1

BQ: Picnic in Central Park with the family.

  4. Only 2 this week

    JLA #4
    New Avengers #6

  5. EARTH 2 ANNUAL #1 (aka, “Countdown to James Robinson’s Departure #1”)

Light week for me, new-comics-wise. But in playing catch-up with Hawkeye, Daredevil and Batman Inc., I’ll be panel drunk by the weekend, no problemo.

BQ: Lazy Monday for me. Laundry, sleep… and oh yeah, I watched the Philip K. Dick episode of “Prophets of Science Fiction.” I was mesmerized by the fake beard worn by the actor playing Dick. Then they’d cut to interviews with the extremely weird and animated Paul Verhoeven and I’d lurch back in my seat.

  6. Mind the Gap #10
    Captain America #7
    Five Weapons #4
    Iron Man #258.4

BQ: played one video games, caught upon Arrow, then went to work.

  7. CAPTAIN AMERICA #7
    FURY MAX #12
    INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK #8
    NEW AVENGERS #6
    TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #22
    THE WAKE #1
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #30
    X-MEN #1

    Not too shabby.

BQ: The wife and I had quite the weekend. We went down to Pensacola and did just about all we could squeeze into three days. Beaches, good food, visited Fort Pickens, watched some stingrays swim around, Monday though, was spent first emergency repairing a cracked radiator, then we went to the lighthouse and climbed to the top, then over to the Naval Aviation Museum, and just got utterly overwhelmed. It was amazing. I got a little choked up at the moon landing exhibit. Skylab and the Mercury capsule are there too. There’s so much to see. We were there for hours, still missed things, and didn’t even go to the new expansion.

http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/nnam/virtualtour/#MUSEUM/UPPER/U18_Space/U18_Space I hope that link works. Turning the corner and seeing that floored me.

  8. Just 2 this week!

BQ: In a theater watching the 6th Fast and the Furious movie wondering if should take my chances and sneak into Star Trek: into Darkness.

  9. Earth 2 Annual #1
    The Wake #1
East of West #2 (2nd printing)

BQ: I had to work Monday, being in Canada and all, but I had the 20th off for Victoria Day and spent it relaxing 🙂

  10. Big comics of the week. The Wake, Angel & Faith, Earth 2 annual and New Avengers.

BQ: I had to go to work yesterday cause we don’t have Memorial Day in Canada. But yeah money for comics is always a good thing in my book.

  11. The Wake #1

    That is all.

    Light week!

  12. buy Deathmatch!

  13. Earth 2 Annual #1, JLA #4 & Lost Vegas #3.

BQ : Lichtenstein exhibition @ The Tate, finally. Met up with friends for dinner & drinks.

  14. 6 Comics for me this week –

    EARTH #2 ANNUAL #1
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #4
    THE WAKE #1

    NEW AVENGERS #6
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #30
    X-MEN #1

  15. The Wake #1
    Chew #34
    Adventures of Superman #1

BQ: Half the day was spent watching Arrested Development season 4, the other half spent reading It’s Superman! It was a good day.

  16. Little week with two great titles New Avengers & BPRD: Vampire & then one which I am more than likely gonna drop Uncanny X-Force!

    BQ- WORKED IT!!!!!

  17. Ahh, 5th week wasteland:) getting:

    New Avengers
    Justice League of America

    X-Men
    Adventures of Superman.

BQ: Canadian. Still, posted posted some war comics to my Tumblr (twofistedpulp), and caught up on Mad Men & Game of Thrones.

  18. Indestructible Hulk, The Wake, J of A, and Earth 2.

I hate Robinson leaving Earth 2. And I finally cut the cord on that awful Batman book I’ve been reading.

BQ: I washed two cars and then did nothing, banner day.

  19. The Wake #1

That’s it. Yeesh…two light weeks in a row. Quiet week from DC this week.

  20. Excited for New Avengers and pretty curious about X-Men #1. It’s weird that a year ago I was very much not an X-Men fan. Now I’m reading 2 X-men books and giving most of them a shot and enjoying them immensely. Plus, you can’t go wrong with Wood and Coipel.

BQ: successfully BBQ’ed for the first time and powered through season 4 of Arrested Development. Good day.

  21. Boring week for me. Looking forward to trying out X-Men #1.

BQ: I had to work. No rest for the retail. Hung out with some friends afterwards.

  22. ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #1 — pre emptive POTW
DEATHMATCH #6 — this is such a good series. More people should be pulling this.
EARTH 2 ANNUAL #1 — I like Earth 2 until Robinson is gone
INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK #8 — Waid and Simonson make a really fun, dynamic, kinetic Hulk
THE WAKE #1 – Synder may be running out of ideas…we’ll see
X-MEN #1 — free from LCS because I empty pull box every week — cool bonus

BQ — got sunburned at Jordan Lake; watched the Avergers on Amazon streaming

  23. A very light week for me, which is good, as last week was insanely heavy . . .

The Wake & Shadow:Year One. Also picking up last week’s All-Star Western for some more time displaced Booster . . .

BQ: My girlfriend and I went to a movie, had dinner out at a new favorite Japanese place and watched the first new episode of Arrested Development . . .

    • You’ll love the last 2 issues of All Star Western. Best ones of the entire series so far. And I now I see that Hex is somehow making contact with f’ing Batwing in an upcoming issue.

    • I read last month’s issue with Booster and enjoyed it — I just didn’t have have enough money last week to get the second part right away.

I wish that I could buy the series more often, but, there’s that pesky budget problem again . . .

    • I downloaded both All-Star Western with Booster issues and dig em. There’s a shortage of Booster Gold around here and I like him popping up in unexpected places, he’s a time traveler, it suits him…..next stop Earth-2 or somewhere with Adam Strange?

  24. Chew
    Clone
    Indestructible Hulk
    Iron Man #258.4
    New Avengers
    The Wake
    X-Men

BQ: Went to South Street in Philadelphia with a friend I haven’t hung out with in forever. Walked the entire street, went into some stores, and then ate some fucking good burgers at a place called COPABANANA, Had a burger with pepperjack cheese and chilies while she had mushrooms and onions.

  25. Avatar photo ochsavidare (@ochsavidare) says:

Been a couple of light weeks from me in a row. This week just The Wake and New Avengers.

    BQ: From Sweden so working.

  26. Pretty light week. Looking forward to Adventures of Superman and the Smallville special. A new Fury Max book is always a special event.

    DARK AVENGERS
    FURY MAX
    EARTH 2 ANNUAL
    JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA
    ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN
    SMALLVILLE

BQ: Went to the pub for some weekday/daytime beer drinking. Had a great half-pound bacon cheeseburger with pickled red onions. Followed that up with a Modern Family marathon and some veggie tacos later that night. Good times!

  27. Light week for everyone it looks like, myself included. Just two books for me.

    FURY MAX #12
    THE WAKE #1

I may end up pledging on one of Jimmy Palmiotti’s Kickstarter books or kick in for the Lady Saber book.

BQ: Went kayaking on the Broad River! Some class II rapids, so nothing too crazy, but good times nonetheless!

  28. Wolverine & X-Men: looking forward to the Hellfire Saga
Wake: thought I’d give this first issue a shot, being a fan of Snyder’s Batman run
Indestructible Hulk: I’m only getting this for the Simonson arc, so last issue for me

I may end up getting X-Men 1 later after I hear some feedback.

BQ: did more packing for a big move in 3 weeks, took care of my toddlers, thought about my vet grandfathers. Oh, and listened to the new Fuzzy Typewriter Rocky episode–a really good one.

  29. Earth-2 Annual
    Dark Knight Annual
    Venom
    BPRD
    Morbius
    The Wake
Batman Noir Deluxe HC (pre-ordered on Amazon)
Might try Adventures of Superman for the variety of talent on the issue.

BQ: 1st Memorial Day in 10 years I wasn’t downtown for the Detroit Electronic Music Festival or down there just for after parties and BBQ at the Old Miami. No hang over, no wore out mess,…did a total opposite and stayed home, caught up on the ol’ “stack”, played some Injustice and watched a few random movies…Savages, House at the End of the Street, Hit & Run. A good 8 hrs of just reading comix in no hurry was very chill.

  30. AVENGING SPIDER-MAN #21
    B.P.R.D.: VAMPIRE #3
    CAPTAIN AMERICA #7
    INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK #8
KING CONAN: THE HOUR OF THE DRAGON #1
    NEW AVENGERS #6
    PREVIEWS #297 (JUNE 2013)
    THE WAKE #1
    UNCANNY X-FORCE #5
    WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #30
    X-MEN #1

Looking forward to The Wake and the delayed X-Men #1 the most.
