Comments

  1. Save Ferris. And make the d*** sequel already!

    • Brodrick is almost 50. Its one thing to watch a cocky teenager have fun while skipping school, but would anyone really want to see a middle age partially balding man goofing off all day while skipping work? Who would he be hiding from anyway? Is he STILL living at home or something and has to sneak past his geriatric parents?
Not every movie needs a sequel.

    • Oh, I think they could make a great sequel if it was well written. By the same token, they could also screw it up royally. Think Ferris tricking his jerk boss and going on a world-wide jaunt.

    • They’d make it about his kid, and Ferris would have to try and outsmart him and catch him in the act….OR Ferris is a principle and has to catch the new version of him………and try and do a whole Indy+Mutt Williams thing, which would prob turn into a disaster of WHY DID THEY MAKE THIS!?!?!?!?

  2. Light week to start the month of February.

    Action Comics
    OMAC
    Swamp Thing
    Sweet Tooth

BQ: God I honestly don’t remember a lot of them…..What I can remember is the Doritos commercial involving a snow globe. “I think that’s a yes!” will be stuck in my head forever.

  3. Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome to my Pull List… SERGIO ARAGONES FUNNIES #7. Somehow I didn’t notice it before but luckily I found all 6 previous issues too. I missed you, Sergio!

  4. American Vampire Vol. 3 (HC)
    Batman: Gates of Gotham (TP)
    Green Arrow: Salvation (HC)
    Superman: Reign of Doomsday (HC)

BQ: Never seen the Super Bowl, but don’t they usually show movie trailers too? That’s my kinda thing.

  5. Winter Soldier #1 and Detective…hey maybe we’ll see what’s up with the Joker..I”m cutting some books this week. Don’t find myself eager to find out what happens in a bunch of books that i thought i’d be pulling.

BQ. so many great commercials i can’t remember any right now. lol. I liked the Kid Vader/VW commercial last year a whole lot. I also like the commercials where a victorious Tom Brady says he’s going to Disneyland. =)

  6. Savage Dragon and Invincible week is always hot. Plus some other fine comics, hope Penguin is classy as hell in Detective 6.

BQ: I’m not a superbowl guy, 3D doritos?

  7. Most anticipated book this week for me? THE TWELVE! Thank heaven!

    BQ: Terry Tate, Office Linebacker.

  8. Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Sweet Tooth, Rachel Rising, X-Factor. Dropped SHIELD and Demon Knights this week leaving the aforementioned Animal/Swampy combo plus Batman and Wonder Woman the last of the 52 standing. As far as SHIELD went I just expected the series to go in a totally different direction after the very first issue and I finally decided to let go. Still loving Hickman on Fantastic Four/FF though.

BQ: Betty White Snickers or Bugles male cheerleader. Go G-Men!

  9. Big week for me, but they are all books I am loving!

    Action Comics #6
    Animal man #6
    Detective Comics #6
    Justice League International #6
    Amazing Spider-Man #679
    Defenders #3
    X-Factor #231

Seriously, this is an amazing week for me. Can’t wait to get my books Friday and inhale these!

BQ: I don’t generally pay attention to commercials, even during the Super Bowl.

    GO GIANTS, BABY!!!

  10. Wow, a light week for me.

I have a hard time convincing myself to buy OMAC now that I know it’s going away.

    • Dude, you should enjoy it while it’s there!

    • Might as well get in on some of that sweet OMAC action while you can.

    • Yeah, yeah. I know. It’s too much fun to quit. I also want to get it because of the trouble I went to acquire the first five from my shop. I’m a stickler for supporting them – especially for everything they do for me – so if they’re going to sell it and it’s on my list, I’m going to buy it.

  11. Big week for me, like 8 books but X-Factor, Venom, Animal Man are coming out this week so it’s a good week.

BQ: I don’t watch the Super Bowl so I don’t have a favorite.

  12. Looking forward to Action Comics, Detective and Uncanny X Force.

BQ: I use to like the Bud Bowl commercials. I always thought it was funny that they kept score. Like anybody cared about the outcome of bottles of beer playing football.

  13. Man, just when I decide to step off the ANIMAL MAN bus… I read this issue #6 summary, and it actually sounds cool. Guess I’ll step off next month, lol. Am most excited for ACTION #6, BETRAYAL OF THE PLANET OF THE APES #4, and WINTER SOLDIER #1.

BQ: I’m an old-timer – and nostalgic when it comes to sports – so I’m going with the Mean Joe Green commercial for Coke, when he throws his jersey to the kid 🙂

  14. what’s a “super bowl” ?

    • A bowl that was rocked to Earth before its home was destroyed, raised by a kindly couple from Kansas and gained amazing powers from earth’s yellow sun?

  15. ANIMAL MAN #6
    FATALE #2
    IRREDEEMABLE #34
    JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL #6
    O.M.A.C. #6
    RACHEL RISING #5
    SWAMP THING #6
    THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #679
    THE DEFENDERS #3
    THE PUNISHER #8
THE STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE #5 (OF 6)
    WINTER SOLDIER #1

BQ: Last time I watched the Super Bowl was uh…erm…the Buffalo Bills were in it. That much I know. I’ll be here instead. http://www.atlantacomicconvention.com/

  16. My pull list is finally getting reasonable again. 7 comics this week, that’s so much better than 15 or something… I just didn’t have the time for it anymore.

    BQ:
I don’t know Super-Bowl, sorry, but I’m from The Netherlands.

  17. Animal Man #6
    Swamp Thing #6
    OMAC #6
    Fatale #2
    Uncanny X-Force #21.

BQ: I have no Idea, i can never remember them.

  18. Avengers: X-Sanction
    Justice League International
    The Defenders
    Batwing
    Green Arrow

im giving Green Arrow a couple more issues on the one fact that a new creative team is taking over, thank the lord.

BQ: i know there were some last year i liked but like everyone else i cant remember

and can i have some help. i cant upload a picture on here for my profile. all my pictures dont work and iv tried on different computers. any suggestions?

  19. I’ve been pulling Animal Man and Swamp Thing digitally a month behind to save a couple bucks, but I’m giving in; I cant take the waiting any more! They are so good, and I am so so weak. On the bright side, I can still wait a month for Action because nothing seems to be happening (crap, I just angered the Morrison gods; I’m scared now!).

BQ: they were annoying then, they’re still annoying now, but I like the wassup bud light guys. I still catch myself saying it…to my dog anyway.

  20. Not a bad week….

    Action Comics_6
    Animal Man_6
    Batwing_6
    Justice League International_6
    OMAC_6
    STATIC SHOCK #6
    Stormwatch_6
    Swamp Thing_6

BQ – At the moment, my brain has been fogged by the nostalgia and goodness of the new Matthew Broderick commercial.

  21. Action Comics #6, Avengers X-Sanction #3, Invincible #88, Static Shock #6, Swamp Thing #6, The Amazing Spider-Man #679, Uncanny X-Force #21, Venom #13, Winter Soldier #1.

Bonus Question: The Doritos commercial where two guys are in a gym and one of them is eating Dave’s Doritos and Dave throws a Dorito like a shuriken in one of the guy’s neck, and Dave has on samurai armor made out of Doritos and nun-chuks made out of Doritos as well and right before Dave slays the other guy the commercial ends.

  22. That commercial made me watch ferris bueler again, so that’s what I’m doing now

  23. Animal Man, Fatale, Punisher, Swamp Thing, Uncanny X-Force, Venom and Winter Soldier.

A great week for me. Brubaker, Lemire, Remender, Rucka and Snyder will not let me down at all.

My favorite commercial has to be the Kid Darth Vader car commerical. Couldn’t stop laughing.

  24. FATALE #2
THE STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE #5 (OF 6) – Actually getting 4 as this is one of my getting it a month late comics.
    ACTION COMICS #6
    ANIMAL MAN #6
    THE PUNISHER #8
    WINTER SOLDIER #1
    O.M.A.C. #6
STORMWATCH #6 – Not entirley sure I’m going to bother – I just can’t make up my mind how I feel about this.
    SWAMP THING #6
    SWEET TOOTH #30
    RACHEL RISING #5
SERGIO ARAGONES FUNNIES #7 – Probably going to be my last. I;ve enjoyed this but some space is needed for all those juicy Image comics that are coming.

BQ: I’ve never watched a Super Bowl in my life. I’m English so even if I did I’d get different adverts.

  25. Action
    Animal Man
    Swamp Thing
    Stormwatch

Dropping OMAC because as much fun as it is, the story seems dull and each issue feels like a repeat of the last. Sort of blah…blah…blah…insert monster her…insert OMAC transformation there…blah…blah…blah.

  26. Action
    Animal Man
    Swamp Thing
    Stormwatch

Dropping OMAC because as much fun as it is, the story seems dull and each issue feels like a repeat of the last. Sort of blah…blah…blah…insert monster here…insert OMAC transformation there…blah…blah…blah.

  27. Definite gets:
    Animal Man
    Swamp Thing
    Action Comics
    Winter Soldier
    Amazing Spider-Man
    X-Factor

    Possible gets:
Fatale- I have issue#1 in my “to read” stack. I’ve heard mixed things, but I may give it 2 issues to grab me.
Uncanny X-Men- Did not care for the first arc at all and was considering dropping this title altogether, but issue#5 did get my attention a bit with its relation to events in UXF. May give it another chance with this arc.
Avengers Academy- Heard enough good things about this series, as well as continually loving Gage’s “Angel & Faith” series, to give this a try. Grabbed a couple back issues, which are currently on my “to-read” stack. If they intrigue me enough, I may continue.
Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi- I am a big Star Wars fan, and must say I am quite intrigued by this new title. I haven’t read a SW comic in a while, but I am also considering waiting for the trade on this.
Alpha Girl- Solict sounds interesting enough.

And in consideration (though more unlikely):
Venom- I dropped off this series after the Spider-Island tie-in, and from what I’ve heard about the last few issues, that may have been a good decision. Not a big fan of this “.1” plan they have coming this story arc, but if I hear enough good things, I may come back, or pick up the trade once it is released.
Avengers: X-Sanction- I grabbed the first issue, and while the story wasn’t very compelling, it had some fun moments. I will probably wait until all 4 issues are released and if anything Earth shattering happens, I may snatch up the remaining issues.
Defenders- Gave this a chance with issues 1&2, and was EXTREMELY underwhelmed. Not grabbing this one, unless of course I hear this issue really turns the book around.

  28. BQ: Kid Darth Vader volkswagon commercial!

  29. Animal Man, Swamp Thang and Uncanny X Force. Also, I am going to pick a volume or two of the manga Death Note and Drops of God.

BQ: A not-so-mean Mean Joe Green’s old Coca Cola spot is a fave.
