Light Week? Try AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #12, MAN-THING OMNIBUS and LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #1

Now in order to get to your comics, you’re going to have to go this way through the casino, veer to the left. Take a sharp right at the first giant palm tree. You’ll see a group of blackjack tables. Not baccarat, not craps, blackjack. Keep going, then wind around to your left. If you get to the pool, you’ve gone too far, back up and take another right. You’ll see a bank of elevators. Those aren’t your elevators, stay away from them. But keep going, you’ll see another bank of elevators, the gold elevators, those are yours. Take them up to the tenth floor, take a right at the end of the hall and you’ll find your comics. Any questions?

Avengers Vs. X-Men #12

MAN-THING OMNIBUS

By lots of people, and a cover by Ariel Olivetti

I’ll be honest, I don’t know what kind of market there is for this. Man-Thing made incredible progress towards renewed relevance in the recent Thunderbolts run, which was then, presumably due to underperformance, changed to Dark Avengers, but it seems unlikely that there’s a lot of people clamoring for this. However, I absolutely love the fact that this exists. These were a different type of comic book. These were monster comics, going back to 1970, and if you’re having a light week, and you’ve got an extra giant-size wad of cash, you should get this and show everyone your extra giant size Man-Thing.

Comments

  1. Picking up Legends of the Dark Knight for sure! That Man-Thing omni kinda catches my eye too.

  2. Seeing as how Cyclops is in the Avengers solicits for marvel Now, I think you will get old one eye back.

    • Sorry but Which Avengers solicits? I have seen him only in the solicits for All-New X-men and Avengers Vs X-men Consequences.

  3. Vegas Vacation?? Really? That…made me laugh.

  4. What’s the purpose of a Batarang on a rope? Is it like a grappling hook batarang?

  5. Legends of the Dark Knight has been great fun. I’ll be picking up the single issues just in case DC doesn’t collect them in trade. They’ve yet to collect any of their other digital first series, but DC is notoriously slow with these things.

  6. I’d love to get the Man-Thing omnibus. I already have the essentials but I’d love to have in color.

  7. Just grabbed LOTDK, I was real disappointed when they had it exclusively as a web comic now I’ve got no excuses….

  8. ooo yeah can I agree with not knowing what kind people actually picks up the Man-Thing. I am a collection whore though… so this existing is definitely a good thing.

  9. Hrm, yeah, not sure a $4.99 end-of-12-part-event is the best thing to jump on and try.

LOTDK and Man-Thing, though, are grrrreat picks. The recent Man-Thing mini was fantastic as well.

  10. Hack/Slash. This article should be about Hack/Slash.

  11. Criminal deluxe vol. 2 should be picked up!
But i guess every one with a little bit of sanity left in their heads and a bit of spare change in their pockets already does.

  12. Steve Gerber on Man-Thing. That should be enough to get ANYONE to buy the omnibus. Word has it this tome includes the entire MT V1 & 2, and also the Giant-Size Man-Thing Comic Magazines! If ever a character was worthy of being collected in such a massive book it’s MAN-THING. I’m all over this omibus
