August 8, 2011 11:20 pm I've never had any trouble getting the kids in my life into comics.
August 5, 2011 1:02 pm It'd serve the point better to create new characters of color, organically, than to simply take a long established character, change his or her color and just say 'well, nothing in the character's story says they have to be white' besides every appearance of that character. Growing up I never looked at the race of any character in hopes of having a role model. It never bothered me that my comics and cartoons were filled with white people and Mexicans weren't 'represented' and until we get a white Blade or Luke Cage this whole 'look at our progress' discussion is a joke.
Marvel would have been better off if they hadn't given the reveal of the new Ultimate Spider-Man right away. I'm sure the story works fine but it would have been great to go about a year before revealing who it is. The questions that seem to have been comepletely ignored here is does he have any Spider-Man powers? And if he does how did he get them? Seriously, this interest me more than anything else, does anyone know the answers yet? Ultimate Universe is SUPPOSED to be different. It's better this way. They needed to move it further away from the Established Universe and it's smarter than taking everything established and starting it over because some people are afraid of higher numbers.
August 3, 2011 4:31 am Another boycott. Goody.
I don't like them and won't participate in them. Unless it's boycotting heirs and estates who suddenly want to benefit from the work of people that have been dead for years. Sorry, (not really) I know it isn't popular to oppose the heirs but enough is enough.
Back in those days being a comics creator was not something you were proud of. Chances are the families weren't proud of the work being done.
Also, and this really applies to the Seigel and Shuster leeches...I mean 'heirs'...the publishers took a HUGE gamble on these characters. There was never any guarantee that the Fantastic Four or Superman or Silver Surfer or any of these characters would be popular. The publishers could have just as easily lost their hats publishing them.
Were the creators mistreated? Probably. It was a different industry then. We need to learn from the past, not dwell on it every time the heirs run out of money and demand some reward for something they had no hand in creating.
I'm just vastly tired of these stories and these people. Why and how anyone thinks they should benefit, in any way, from what was essentially a huge gamble that paid off is beyond me.
July 28, 2011 5:01 pm Another great issue and probably the most gorgeous cover in recent memory.
I can't wait to read more when Fairest starts in a few months!
July 26, 2011 1:14 pm Why doesn't Dynamite or IDW try to get the rights for The Adventures Of Brisco County, Jr? THAT'S a western seris I would buy!
July 21, 2011 3:27 am Aw, man...I'm not a video game player at all but...
Rocket Raccoon....Nova....Ghost Rider....Doctor Strange....Guess I'm going to have to figure out how to play this thing.
July 21, 2011 3:19 am ...let's just get this car wreck over with
July 20, 2011 2:29 am Drop the 'season one' crap and you much have something. I hate this 'season' crap in comics. We don't have 'seasons' we have volumes. Not everything should follow television...you know, the medium who's recent claim to fame what the collective stupidity called Jersey Shore?

July 14, 2011 2:11 pm I was excited about this, a female Rider and hopes of sorting out (or better: DROPPING COMPLETELY) all the crap Way and Aaron put on the Rider mythos really had me looking forward to it.
Then they showed this Ghosr Rider will have hair.
Then I saw the .1 issue
Then I read through the first issue.

Thanks for proving once again that Marvel either doesn't give a damn about Ghost Rider or just doens't know how to handle the character.
I'm going back to re-reading the Ketch series.
