Ah, Nemesis, how I want to love you…

This book, for me, is tough to love.  The story is missing its mark for me, and the pacing is so blistering, we’re not even allowed to peel back the layers of the characters or motivations of the story.  Instead, we’re left with a trail of bodies and machismo tomfoolery that doesn’t quite coalesce into a cohesive story.

I think most disappointing is the art in this title.  While I appreciate that McNiven is trying a different style, it seems more lazy to me than anything else.  The last issue of this series came out at the end of March, and here we are in the middle of June with a book that lacks backgrounds or details of any sort.  Is he putting so many lines in faces that he’s forgetting to put in backgrounds?  This book is just boring visually.  I guess the idea was that the action would make up for what’s a dully drawn book, but in this case, it really doesn’t.  It’s a shame because I think these guys usually hit a home run when they work together, but this…this just stinks.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 2 - Average
