GotG #2 was so much fun. While the 1st issue set up the characters and plot of the story this issue got down to the action. Pretty much every panel is an individual member of the Guardians taking down a Badoon war ship. My favorite character in this issue was of course Rocket Raccoon, who enjoyed giving headshots to numerous Badoon while saying, “Blam! Murdered you.” Groot has yet to be seen in action as he’s still recovering from what happened previously. They say a team is only as good as it’s weakest link and it seemed that Drax was that weak link as he struggles to handle take on the Badoon. The art was fantastic and with both Steve McNiven & Sara Pichelli on pencil work of course this’d look amazing. Through my first read through I didn’t even know which pages Pichelli drew then I went back and I’m assuming she drew the portion of the story where rulers of different planets assembled in the Negative Zone to discuss their concern of Earth becoming a threat to their way of life. Speaking of which, I enjoyed this segment as well. Even as an Earthling myself I understood the reasons King J-Son had for suggesting that they take control of Earth/destroy it. This wasn’t a meeting of super-villains planning to rule the world for their own nefarious reasons. They were talking about Earth being a planet of madness and uncontrollable power that needed to be dealt with. I’m interested to see were this goes and I will be sticking around for a long time. Please don’t have a creative team shift like Nova!
