Neil Gaiman should do superheroes more often because when he writes a comic as good as this it makes me ache for more.

Andy Kubert’s art is some of the best out there right now although I would say he does panelled pages better than splashes in this issue.

I don’t know if this was meant to be an in-continuity story or not but don’t really care. It was a masterclass in comic book storytelling from writer and artist and the experience was well worth it however important to the grand scheme of things is. Buy this book if you haven’t already, and pick up the first part of the story in Batman#686.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
