Alright, let's get on thing straight here. The fact that Superman has technically never seen the 'real' Brainiac is a bit of a cop out. You cant tell me that after all these years, with Crisis's and all, that Briainiac has made so many different looking forms to just study Clark and now we're gonna see what he truely looks like. Don't get me wrong, I love Brainiac, and I know this is his character that he makes more then one version of himself. But it's ridiculous to think that after all the death, destruction, and harm he has done to Kent's life over the years....he's just been some robot in a cocoon following the hero for over decades of storylines.

With that of the way, what a fucking great series we got here. Johns can write anything he wants perfectly here. Whether it's Clark and Pa talking about the old days, to Ma Kent trying to plead with Cat Grant, to interactions with Supergirl (a compenant one at that) with Superman. Johns can write any situation he wants and makes it feel so smooth of a transition that it feels like your watching a film.

The art, as always, is fantastic by Frank and he doesnt miss a beat with any page. As many would say, it's weird to see Reeves as Kent in his issues, but with beautiful fight scenes and quiet moments going around...it's hard to stay creeped out for too long.

I dont know where we go from here, as Johns and Robinson stated this is the start of something big for Brainiac in the future. As long as I dont see yet another clone or version of my favorite evil robot after their run is done I'll be pleased. Cant wait to see how Robinson can write Brainiac as well in the future.
