  1. I’d disagree with you about digital coloring looking good on a computer, I think it looks bad in any medium

  2. I have a feeling that however BKV ends EX MACHINA, the ending will live up to the name. BKV is a student of history and literature after al,l In a certain sense, the whole series was born out of a need to "Fix"" the Unfixable Tragedy or solve  the unsolvable problem. Score one for the Greeks. I’m excited.

  3. Archie #600! i knew i forgot to pick something up this week! *rolleyes*

  4. I’m about to go on a bike ride to my boy’s house in a few, I wish this podcast was up on iTunes so I could listen to it on my iPod but no, can’t get it up on time AGAIN!!

    Jesus, c’mon

  5. Not sure what you mean – working on iTunes for me – if you’re going to the iFanboy page in iTunes, that usually takes a while for iTunes to show the new episode, but if you subscribe to the show, you should get the new episode as soon as it’s released – I just tested it on 2 different computers.

You can always download it directly from this page too and put it on your iPod manually.  Sorry that you’re having difficulty grabbing it.

  6. @ron Marko Djurdjevic doesn’t do painted interors. take alook at his thor run or the preview for the avengers list thats out there. good show guys as always.

  7. Conor just sounds like he just woke up from a nap.

  8. @robby @ron – I had no trouble downloading the episode via a subscription in iTunes.

  9. Wow….

When Brubaker probably told Diggle (way back when) what he was going to leave him with….I bet Diggle was terrified. That’s an amazing idea to put Daredevil in right now.

  10. It is aggravating to hear people talk about Marko Djurdjevic as just a painter. Yes, he made his name as a cover painter for Marvel, but his Ultimate Hulk Annual pieces and Thor work have all been pencils and color by others. In fact, his upcoming DR The List Avengers is going to be pencils as well. You aren’t the only ones, but I don’t want to hear anyone else that is supposed to know about comics assume that Marko’s current and future work will be painted. Read up, mate.

  11. No spiderwoman talk?

  12. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

Jimski wrote a nice little review of the Spider-Woman motion comic earlier this week.

  13. The actual SPIDER-WOMAN comic doesn’t come out until next month. I’m sure we’ll talk about it then.

  14. X-Factor getting cancelled?  I’m kind of glad because it has been terrible with the future stuff.  As usual, I agree with Josh’s comments.

  15. Hey, great song choice!  I’ve been playing that song to myself all week, especially during my work breaks just to pick myself up.

And thanks for mentioning ARCHIE.   It just seemed like a bit of fun so I’m glad Conor took some time to discuss it.  My mom grew up reading this series and she still had a few lying around my grandma’s house when I was growing up.  Brings back some memories.

And hey, thanks for using my voicemail.  Does the series DOOM 2099 fit my parameters?  Is Doom a villain in that series?

  16. It’s all good, I’m about to lay down and listen to it soon actually.

  17. Wow. I’m quite embarrassed now, but in a good way. Thanks for the mention.

    -J.

  18. I like how the summary says "Batgirl #1 gives it a go".

  19. Highlight for me- Josh saying that he’s been watching Friday Night Lights. GREAT show.

  20. Okay, this is weird I’m listening to She & Him right now, I just dropped by to check out the summary and look at the comments (won’t listen to the show until I get my comics in and read).

  21. Oh I could keep adding on the list of Simpsons jokes. Your looking at a certified nut when it comes to the series.

"Don’t worry; getting killed by an alligator is like sleeping….in a giant blender."

  22. was that a cough or did someone laugh when Ron said "Big load"?

  23. @Ron Follow-up for the Marvel Super-villain question. Marvel put out a Dr. Doom team up book back in the 1975 called Super-Villain Team-Up. I haven’t read it myself but it was the first thing i thought of when i heard the voicemail. It’s sounds brilliant, i mean who doesn’t want to read Doom team-up with Namor and the Red Skull???

  24. Thor #600 was actually terrific, one of my favorite single issues of 2008, featuring one of the best super-hero fight scenes I’ve ever seen.

I would rank the three big anniversary issues Ron mentioned as: 1. Thor #600, 2. Amazing Spider-Man #600, 3. Daredevil #500.  I would only rank ASM above Daredevil because of the strength of the total package with ASM 600– because the main story, by Slott, in ASM 600 was rather weak.

  25. I’d like to know where the rumours about X-Factor were started. Like Ron, this is the X-Book I have always wanted. If it goes I’m done with mutants

  26. X-Factor is indeed awesome right now. It took a huge dip for a long while, but ever since Secret Invasion ended, it’s been the top X-book bar none. The others aren’t even close

  27. If you can wait, like, one hour, I’ll tell you all about the X-Factor rumors.

  28. OH NO!

  29. oh cool!  maybe you didn’t do anything, but I’m relistening, and this sounds much better, volume-wise! 🙂

Also, I don’t know what the deal is, but I find myself less interested in the Power Girl book than initially.  I just LOVE Amanda’s art, but I feel that people are not writing for her style correctly.  Jimmy in particular, as of late.

She has a kinda comedic, goofy take on characters that lends itself more to the ‘slice of life’ stuff more than the, all out superhero stuff, imo.  And while for her, it must be good work, I would just like to see whoever is in charge, consider the artist and writer more so that they’re styles are complimentary.  unless Amanda is asking for Jimmy to write for her or something.

  30. I think Ron broke his previous "you know" record in the Daredevil review hehe.

  31. When you listed Frazer Irvings work (re Days Missing) you missed off all the brilliant stuff he does for 2000AD. ‘The Simping Detective’ is probably his best art on either side of the pond to date. But also his work on Dredd, Button Man and Necronauts. Just sayin’.

  32. @josh I have the same problem finding books at my LCS. They always order to few books.  Luckily there is another comic store I can go to get my missing books. I live in a rural town and buy my books on new comic day after work in the city I work in.  If I can’t find them I get a friend that shops in the other city’s comic shop to get my other books or I go myself later.

  33. So DD is boss of the Hand now? Wasn’t he the Kingpin for about two minutes? I think he should be Bullseye for a bit. Or maybe Frog Man.

I miss the current X-Factor’s early days, all the typical X-Men sgtuff of recent years takes the shine off it a tad.

All this talk of Archie’s wedding makes me want to watch Return to Riverdale again. Love that hiphop Sugar Sugar.

  34. Talk about Fashion Zombie.
