  1. I kinda wish Power Man had been in the main book before this mini so I’d have a better idea of whether or not to bother with this…

  2. Not reading Shadowland but the idea of Danny Rand teaching karate in Harlem is too good to pass up. Plus it’s FVL and Mahmud Asrar, a great pairing.

  3. If marvel holds true to record, all of these ancillary titles are going to be crap.  Save your $$.

  4. I liked the preview, the team is good and the premise sounds good. I’m not reading Shadowland but I might give this a try.

  5. I’m probably down for the Iron Fist and Powerman series that comes out of this but will pass this up.  Not reading Shadowland and I usually skip Marvel miniseries.

  6. Looking forward to seeing how they do this. It could be really good or really bad.

  7. I’m a huge Van Lente fan . . . don’t really want another mini . . . not reading any Shadowland stuff . . . damn.

  8. The Shadowland books have been strong so far, they stand alone fine if you’re not reading the series, this is a good creative team, and it has Iron Fist.  What’s not to like?

  9. there was a time, around about civil war, when I would have bought this and the other daughters of shadowland mini. I would have been non plused by them and continued to buy just to see what happens.

Fortunately the recession has come along and meant I can no longer afford such frivolity!

See! There is a good side to fiscal uncertainty!

  10. It’s not Luke Cage is it? If so, how can Luke Cage be on the Avengers, running the Thunderbolts and in this series at the same time? It makes no sense!

  11. @IroncladMerc- it’s not, but if you’re wondering how such things can happen, please consult the New Avengers #3 thread.

  12. @abirdsetsView

The now legendary New Avengers thread, lol

  13. Passed on this one, not interested in another Power Man, Luke Cage is good enuf for me.

Glad that thread has become notorious, probably for all the wrong reasons, but there you go, another proponent of a stricter continuity.  Luke Cage on his lunch break had Swamp Thing teleport him to Shadowland so that he could deal with this new fugazi Power Man, JUST KIDDING!

  14. This was a big surprise for me. I really liked it and I was expecting them to drop the ball.

  15. it is van lente so its gonna be of a standard.

would like to afford a bit of fred fun times, but the rent is more important.

  16. I might have to get this . . .

  17. Wasn’t even planning on picking this up, but I’m sure as hell glad that I did, because this is easily my POTW. This new Power Man is fun and interesting, and Iron Fist…well…what more great things can I say about him? Now I can’t wait for the ongoing.

  18. Van Lente needs more people reading his books.  Iron Man Legacy doesn’t have shit for readers and its great.  This book doesn’t have a huge following and this first issue was great.
