I feel like the unofficial 'Shadowland' cheerleader at this site, but I'm continuing to be amazed & impressed by the tie-ins to this event. They don't feel half-hearted or like 'cash grabs,' they feel like the reason for the event to exist. Here, ace writer Fred Van Lente introduces a new character with mysterious powers, who is doing good deeds (for pay) in New York under the name 'Power Man.' It turns out that he's a teenager who used to live in the city block that Bullseye blew up, and now is living in a crowded apartment with his mom and extended family. Soon, Iron Fist & Luke Cage get pulled in to deal with events, and there is just some great fun banter and superhero action, and a story that has me eager for the next chapter. My favorite part, though, is the backmatter, which goes over the story off Power Man and Iron Fist, not in typical Marvel Handbook style, but by having Luke and Danny tell each other's stories. It's good fun for new and old fans.
