  1. Why does it feel like the popularity of this title has dropped significantly on this website?

I don’t wanna sound like I’m judging or criticizing anyone. But it feels like this book doesn’t get much love as it used to.

    • I do computer work for John Laymans mom and in turn he sends her every issue signed for me so I have much love still

    • I agree. it’s probably due to CHEW maturing like any product. The initial haze of love is dwindling which is natural. I saw the same case with TWD prior to the 100th issue. Now, TWD is back at the top of the charts. Chew just needs something big to happen. The quality hasn’t gone down at all either, so that can’t be the case. I think that the Poyo one shot, the reissue of issue #27, and the recent delay has also caused some doldrums. I also don’t find the story quite as compelling with Tony’s sister, Toni, as the lead. I want Tony back.

  2. I haven’t really loved an issue of Chew since #25. This used to be in my top three favorites, but I can’t even get excited for it anymore. It’s still better than most books, but it’s not the five-star-every-issue series it used to be, for me. The Poyo one-shot was the worst issue in the series, big let down. I really want to love Chew again, I hope this can do that for me.

    • The Poyo one-shot was amazing, I think it might have been my POTW for me and I remember ranting on twitter how much fun I had with that issue. This book still rules even post #25, but I think some of the momentum was lost with a delay here or there.

  3. Im still loving the hell out of this series, one of my favorites. It has the issue of being consistently good, and not necessarily consistently on time, but that doesn’t bother me. This is one of the best comics for single issue stories that also fits into an a bigger long form story. Its great.

  4. I still love and laugh when an issue comes out. Chew is just unreal good.

  5. I’m considering dropping this to be honest. It’s still as great as it always was, no doubt, but my tastes have changed a lot in the last year or so, and I just don’t find myself anticipating it with as much fervor as I used to. That being said, I’m gonna stick around for a few more at least, just to help me decide.

  6. Is anyone else not getting this on Comixology this week? It seems this and a few other Image books have not come on line for me.

That aside, I understand people’s, shall we say frustrations, with this book, but I think it has mostly come down to the delays which added together are starting to pile up. I think the creative team just need to get down to it, regain some consistency and all will be well again.
