Comments

  1. Nice

  2. I think I can safely pass on these three. Still might pick up the X-Men OGN because of McKelvie.

  3. All of these books look great.  Too bad no dialogue to get a real preview but still this looks great.

  4. I very much like that the origins are being done in the first few pages in order to get on with the rest of the story.

  5. underwhelming…they just look so average.

  6. The FF one looks the best.

DD’s looks underwhelming. Why? Imagine a gorgeous, painted OGN starring Daredevil. I would snap that up in a heartbeat.

  7. These seem cool. I’ll probably buy them, although I think they should just go all the way and make these in a new universe. I know that’s redundant due to the Ultimate Universe, but why make it more confusing and have it in continuity?

  8. I’m very interested to see Cullen Bunn’s take on Spider-man.

  9. I’m missing the point of these.

  10. Avatar photo Paul Montgomery (@fuzzytypewriter) says:

@MrGlass  They’re apparently aimed at casual readers who don’t want to go to comic shops.

  11. Hmm. Not bad to look out, but I see no draw for myself. Might get the X-Men for Mekelvie. And I like the FF art. Hmm… have to think about this.

  12. Good art, but still have no interest in a copy-cat of Earth One and the 1,000,000th origin story for all of these characters.

  13. looks good but how many times can i spend money on the stories i know

  14. I agree with the comment above..all these origin retelling are waste of time..I dont want to read these stories again..the art looks great but I want somehthng NEW.  Come guys get creative and gstop rehashing and retelling same old stuff

  15. I have a feeling the priest is going to suggest the Red costume.

  16. I’m not trying to be rude or anything here – but that is some of the dullest preview art I think i have ever seen. Marvel’s really going to get those new readers with this boring shite

  17. They look OK, but I’ve read these origins so many times over the last 40 years that I’m gonna save my money for some of their other fine products.

  18. Out of interest I might get Daredevil. But Cullen Bunn on Spider-man! I’ll be all over that. He is one of my favourite new voices in comics. One of the new at Marvel. I will check this out, and pray it does well enough to increase his profile at Marvel… I think the art looks great, but lets try to remember these are for new readers. If the art or story does not appeal to you, Marvel maybe using simple art, and telling origin stories to appeal to new readers. We aren’t the target audience for these.

  19. I still think shalvey should have drawn daredevil

  20. I’m gonna pass, but I guess stuff like this must sell.  There’s certainly no obvious creative/storytelling reason to rehash these stories for the billionth time.  Hey, if it brings in new readers, it’s a win.

  21. @Zeppo  Totally. These are aimed at a totally different audience then us, and if it works… great.

  22. @edward  –i agree. I think if you’re goal is to bait new readers, you want to put your best effort forward with an All Star creative team…really make it compelling and exciting. The art looks competent but i don’t know if its going to close the deal with anyone who’s casually browsing in a book store.
