NYCC 2012: Wade Wilson Takes on The Classics in DEADPOOL KILLUSTRATED

NOTE: Not Series ArtAnnounced earlier today at the Diamond Retailer Breakfast held during New York Comic Con weekend, Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth is taking on the literary greats in a four-issue series called Deadpool Killustrated. Scheduled to launch this January, Deadpool will be going toe-to-toe with the likes of Moby Dick, Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, and even the characters of Little Women — as written by Cullen Bunn.

Described by Marvel as “the story you never knew you’ve been waiting for,” it’s one in a long line of unique projects Marvel’s developed for Deadpool that would (couldn’t, and shouldn’t!) fit any other character. Kudos to Marvel, Cullen Bunn and the editors for doing this.

Bunn is one of Marvel’s up-and-coming writers after making his name with the creator-owned series The Sixth Gun. The St. Louis-based writer is currently writing the ongoings Wolverine, Venom and Captain America And…, along with writing the upcoming Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe and Minimum Carnage.

No word yet on the artist. Stay tuned!

Comments

  1. Yes, indeed.

  2. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe already came out – its not “upcoming.” It was fun. I liked Bunn’s writing in that mini.

  3. This is going to be sweet.

  4. Am I the only one who has been a bit disappointed with Cullen’s Marvel work? I love The Sixth Gun, but have really struggled to enjoy his other work recently.

  5. This might be the first Deadpool series I have to buy.
