This issue was great.  I don't really follow all of you who have been annoyed with this taking so long, its a big story and it was told in a big way.  If you read the whole event, all the minis and the GL titles its been really a lot of fun.  If you don't feel you should have to buy the minis thats fair, but they're there to enrich the whole story and you just pick and choose how enriched you want it to be.  I've bought it all, and while I'm ready to move on to whats next, I'll never say I haven't enjoyed the ride on this one :)

hehe, I thought it was great.  The mini's are a way of showing that EVERYone is occupied right now and not a way of leaving people out.  the superman mini does address the current superman status quo. 

The only thing I'm wondering is when this does take place in relation to the other storylines.  I'm loving the new krypton thing, but this must take place after its conclusion right?  hmmm...just don't know.

Magneto "returns" a lot.  the first issue of X-men I ever bought (in the 90's) was Magneto returning.

July 15, 2009 10:54 pm I love that the rings were adult sized this time, unlike the tiny green and yellow ones they passed out at SDCC last year.  I missed the  yellow ones though, they dissappeared too quick :(

one last thing from me, the thing on the last page that has the black rings counting UP, was really interesting to me.  so everytime they suck out someone's life force/soul/whatever the rings power level went up.  the first two deaths put the rings at 0.02%.  Holy crap a lotta people are going to have to die to get that to 100%.  color me intrigued.

my favorite moment was the page turn where scar attacks the guardians, I freaked out a bit.  I loved the whole thing, already read it 3 times and will probably read it some more.  I scored the variant cover and the normal cover, happy with both :)  Its the first comic in a while where I got on the phone with a buddy to talk about it after we both finished it...sorta felt like a teenage girl for a minute there.
