The Batman Adventures books from the 90s were simple, timeless Batman stories that never seemed dumbed down for kids.Just like the TV show, to be exact.Mad Love in particular is quite possibly my favorite Batman story ever, and I think it measures up with any classic Bat stories.
Dropped Academy after issue #2. It wasn't bad, just wasn't my thing. Of the remaining titles, Secret wins by default more than anything else. The opening Avengers arc was convoluted but was too much Bendisspeak from every character, which is also what hurts New Avengers, IMO, even though I love Immonen. At least Secret has a fresh lineup, and the characters at least have individual voices/personalities. If only I could switch Deodato with Immonen.
November 10, 2010 4:28 pm Three years fo good stories during BND buys Marvel the benefit of the doubt to an extent, but it doesn't negate 15 years of dropping the ball with Spidey. I will proceed with caution.
November 10, 2010 4:19 pm Maybe after the butt load of Earth ones sold he realized the other books weren't worth his (limited) time? I still think the best thing he has done at DC is Brave and Bold, but I am not afraid to admit I liked Earth One.
October 13, 2010 4:17 pm I dropped quite a few books over the last year from both DC and marvel because they went to $4. If they were to go back to $3, I would probably pick most of them up again. Not all, because some have been replaced by other/new series.
October 10, 2010 1:21 pm Flash does seem like the obvious choice, and they need to strike while the iron is hot before people get bored with Barry again.

I thought Dixon's early run on Robin was as good, if not better, than his Nightwing run.
The Vertigo Human Target run is one of my unsung favorites, that I have NEVER heard anyone else say they like. They should.
Vulture, maybe?
